Liberal Bias Plays a Part in Decline of New York Times Stock

by Staff
December 3, 2008

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Boycott The New York Times editor Don Feder said today that "palpable bias" at the paper has contributed to steep declines in The Times' readership, advertising revenue, and stock value. The New York Times Company dramatically slashed its quarterly dividend last week, and its shares have lost 66.8% of their value this year.

"What's bad for The New York Times is good for America," writes Feder in a report posted Monday at BoycottNYT.com. "As time goes by, The Times has swung further and further to the left - not just in editorials and commentary, but also in what purports to be news coverage."

Acknowledging that "the loss of ad revenue over the past year can in part be attributed to the economy," Feder reasons, "But what about the decline in readership over a 15-year period, while the population continued to grow? Disgust at The New York Times' blatant bias is a factor."

The Times' coverage of this year's presidential campaign highlighted the type of slanted coverage the public will no longer tolerate, Feder observed.

Writing in an exclusive commentary for the popular conservative news website WorldNetDaily, Feder noted, "The New York Times' coverage of the 2008 campaign was biased, brutish and business as usual. Its reporting here was on par with its coverage of gay 'marriage,' domestic energy exploration, judicial activism, illegal immigration, gun ownership, abortion, taxes, the $700-billion bailout - you name it." His article for WND is available here.
