A great leader of a protestant denomination once said, " I have heard God three times in my life."

Now, if this guy is a leader, then how often do you feel we need to hear God?

Why don't Christians hear God"

Is there a reason?

Hello jonteel,

I see this is your first post so Welcome to Christians Unite forums.

First of all I would say that all Christians have heard God. God speaks to us in a number of different ways. God speaks to us through His written word, He speaks to our hearts, He speaks to us through all that is around us. You see, when a person answers the call to salvation it is because they heard God speaking to them. Whenever we are convicted of doing anything wrong no matter how small it may seem it is because God is speaking to us. Whenever we look at all around us it all screams out "I am God, the Creator of all that there is."

Too many people expect Him to speak to us in a physically audible manner as we do to each other. Although He is fully capable of doing so He normally does not speak to us in that manner. John 4:24

So you see, it isn't because God doesn't speak to us but rather that we aren't listening.

Depends on what one means by "hear". I have never heard the voice of God like Paul did when he was struck down off his horse. I have "heard" Him speak to me in my mind. He also "speaks" to me when I read His word. I don't believe He verbally speaks to anyone any more as He did in OT days before the writing of His word.
