Hope you all enjoy your turkey and stuffing.

Of course we are to give thanks everyday. We are thankful for everything God is, everything He has done and is going to do. We are thankful for family and friends, food and water, shelter and clothing, freedom and peace.

After all that, what we are thankful for can vary from person to person. That is what I would like to ask. What is something you're thankful for that others think isn't especially important?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!

You're right - everyone probably does have a list of different things that they're thankful for. As Christians, the question might need to come up about what we SHOULD be thankful for. A Christian's list would be different from the list of a lost person, and who we give THANKS TO would also be different. You and I would be THANKING GOD for things like this:

1.  JESUS CHRIST dying on the CROSS for us.
2.  SALVATION.
3.  A HUGE list of Beautiful Promises from GOD.
4.  GOD'S Love for us.
5.  GOD'S WORD.
6.  THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD LIVING IN OUR HEARTS.
7.  Spiritual Blessings in CHRIST for NOW and for ETERNITY.
8.  HOPE in the knowledge that this life is NOT all there is.
9.  Necessities all come from GOD, regardless of how small we think the necessity is.
10. FREEDOM, especially the FREEDOM to worship, FREEDOM of religion, and FREEDOM of speech.
11. SAFETY for our children and ourselves - in our homes and for our persons.
12. Human RIGHTS that relate to what GOD gives us. All GOOD things come from GOD, including good leaders and good government. I think that we take many of these things for granted until they are lost.
13. Good and Godly parents.
14. Loving family.
15. GOD watching over our loved ones.
16. Being able to pray anytime we want to.
17. Knowing that GOD is in CONTROL - not man.

Brother David, I think the above list would be just a start for Christians. Some of the above areas of THANKS are very broad and could include many things. If any Christian sat down and really thought about things, the list would be huge. As an example, I have a list somewhere that lists 100 things FREE IN CHRIST.

Brother Tom is right the list can be quite lengthy and most of it is for things that others wouldn't even think to be thankful for. I like the words of the Bible on this.
