mick,
My suggestion to you is to look into the eyes of the people you come in contact with and see the empty look of longing and sow a seed of hope in their lives, and watch what happens in the window of their soul.  No doubt, some will never trust in Him, and the empty look will remain

Tonib,I lived in the red-light area of Leicester,England for 5 years and was on friendly terms with most of the prostitutes there, and I did see the empty look of longing in the eyes of many of them, and was able to comfort most of them by quoting that great verse spoken by Jesus to the Chief Priests and elders that only the true Son of God could speak:- "The prostitutes and tax collectors will get to heaven ahead of you!" (Matt 21:31)
But sadly there were always a minority of the girls who'd have nothing to do with me and either walk away when they saw me coming,or return my cheery "Hello" with "Clear off! I don't want you to talk to me!"
By the way,I let down one of the girls badly and shall regret it forever;she knocked my door at 4:30 a.m. a couple of years ago nearly in tears because a client had roughed her up,and she'd come straight from the hospital to me as her nearest friend. I gave her my bed and when she said "you can get in with me if you like" I made some excuse and slept on my settee instead. I realise now I should have lain with her (fully-clothed!) with my arm round her to give her some comfort til she went to sleep, and I'll always regret not doing so.I moved away from Leicester a little later.
