Hi there,
I am new to this forum, so i feel i must introduce myself:
I am NOT a practicing christian, however I am a great fan of Dostoyesky. In his novel 'The Devils', there are two polemic characters Kirillov & Shatov; Kirillov follows atheism with almost a religious fervour, whilst the religious philosophy of Shatov drifts blindly toward atheism.
I identify myself with Kirillov - so maybe there's some hope for me!
I am posting here hoping to find an answer to a small puzzle which I have recently been thinking about.
One of my favourite movies is "Donnie Darko"; although this film is not considered to be a 'Christian' movie, I think it has massive spiritual overtones.
In this film, the main character is given 28 days 6 hours 42 mins and 12 secs to live. Donnie Darko writes on his arm 28:6:42:12.
Now, given the religious overtones of the movie I was sure these numbers related to some passage/message in the bible. However, I was disappointed to find that this may not be the case.
Thanks for staying with me here, and I am hoping that someone who has studied bibliography can advise me.
Maybe I am chasing windmills;maybe I am posting on the wrong forum.
Any help appreciated,
Adam

Hmmmm! Are you Don Quixote?
Doestoyevsky was a great writer, but can not help you with "Donnie Darko" and his tattoos.
Leave the windmills to Don if you are not him.
