Just in case you're still not sure how to check what Brother Tom is talking about.

Click on Tools and then on Options. Click the Privacy tab then make sure the cookies read Keep until they expire. Also under Private Data on that same tab if you have the box checked for "Clear my private data when I close Firefox" you can either un-check that box or if you want some of that to clear except the cookies you can then click on the settings button right next to that. You should get a window that pops up with various boxes. Ensure the box is not checked for Cookies.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

I should have remembered that Firefox Linux has some labels that are different from Firefox Windows. It's been a long time now since I've used Windows, so I really should have waited and let someone with Windows answer. ALSO, my memory on operating system details isn't good enough to last over a year. Brother David, I apologize if I confused you with the wrong command names.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Favorite Bible Quotes 144 - Galatians 2:19-21 For I through the law am
dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with
Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate
the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is
dead in vain.

that made it worse

Hello Brother David,

I'm sorry to hear that you're still having problems. Firefox 3 isn't out for my version of Linux yet, so I have no experience with the new Firefox except some playing with a beta version of it. I do know that it's getting great reviews and very few problems are being reported. Unless something changes my mind, I plan to install and use the new Firefox 3 as soon as it becomes available for my system.

The below is just something to think about. I have heard about some problems with writing a new version of Firefox over an older version. I've had a few problems with just minor upgrades. When I install the new Firefox 3, it will be fresh. In other words, I will uninstall the old one first and delete the remaining files from the old Firefox first. I will obviously keep copies of things I will need again - like bookmarks, scrapbook files, etc. Please don't do this simply because I mentioned it. This is just something I plan to do when I upgrade to the new Firefox 3. Please check with some Windows users to see if this might be worth you doing. Typically, uninstalling the old Firefox first is not very difficult. The problem you are experiencing might or might not be from remaining files from the old Firefox. Again, please ask an experienced Windows user first.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I hadn't thought about that, Brother Tom. Whether a person uninstalls the older version or not when a new version of Firefox is installed there is always remnant files left behind of the old Firefox program in Windows Registry. The majority of the time these remnant files don't usually cause any problems. It is possible though for the newer version of the program to try to use some of those remnant files instead of the ones in the newer version and if this happens it can cause all sorts of unwanted results.

Anytime that I install, uninstall or update any of my programs I use a good reliable registry cleaner to get rid of those stray files. It does help to keep the computer running much smoother and faster.

I uninstalled then reinstalled firefox. That seemed to fix it.

Hello Brother David,

I'm happy to hear this. I know that it's a real pain when your browser doesn't work properly.

Love In Christ,
Tom
