It was a great movie. To long, but great. I felt like I was in a Baptist sermon, it had sevreal endings. IT WOULDN'T STOP! Oh God, please make it end! The whole threatre moaned in unison when they showed Sam with his wife and Kids at the end.
Keep in mind, oh literate one, providing you've read said tome...the ending is in conjuction with the book. The book had about 50+ more pages after the main story had ended, explaining what happened to everyone. Ending the movie any other way would ruin it. As for the repeated "black screens..." I think I got up each time after the first one thinking it was over!
