In a debate, someone asked: why are we being punished for Adam and Eve's sin?

It won't do good saying "because they brought the curse of sin and death into the world"

Maybe the answer I need is "how and why did it bring the curse?"

Hi David,

Adam and Eve first sinned by eating of the forbidden fruit. This was their own personal sin. But in doing so it also gave them and all mankind after that the knowledge of good and evil. Having that knowledge all are now accountable for all that they do.

That's not a problem, brother. Ask all that you feel the need to. When it comes to this subject there always is a lot of questions and a whole lot of rejection of the answers.

Hello Brother David,

You ask great questions. In fact, this one might be considered to be one of the ultimate questions that relates to the biggest and most important questions in the creation of mankind.

1 - Who is ALMIGHTY GOD, THE CREATOR?

2 - Why did HE CREATE mankind?

3 - What about the ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD, THE KING OF KINGS, THE LORD OF LORDS?

4 - What about the responsibility of man when viewed by the EXPECTATIONS OF GOD?

5 - ALMIGHTY GOD is all powerful in an infinite way, so why does HE allow any portion of HIS CREATION to disobey HIM?

6 - Why did GOD make mankind with the ability to make choices instead of robot-like creatures who would obey HIS every expectation from the very start?

7 - Are there and should there be consequences for disobeying or disrespecting THE CREATOR?

Brother David, this could boil down to the ultimate question of our existence:

The SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD and the Responsibility of Man?

Brother David, all of the above questions and more would relate to this ultimate question. Books have been written about this subject from a highly Biblical perspective. We must first know that the Holy Bible is GOD'S WORD that will be preserved forever. Trying to answer the questions would involve a very lengthy investigation of GOD'S WORD, but the start might be as simple as:

Would a CREATION of completely OBEDIENT ROBOTS GLORIFY GOD?

ALMIGHTY GOD could have CREATED mankind as completely obedient with no will or choice, so why didn't HE?

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 1:18-23 NASB I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

you will get no argument from me.

The questions they are asking are basically: why did we have to keep the knowledge of good and evil? Why didn't God kill them and start over? Why did God make a command in the first place?

Why did God not remove the tree of the knowledge of good and evil from the reach of Adam and Eve?

This question and all those that you and Brother Tom gave all boils down to one thing. God gave us all a choice. The ability to choose, to follow Him willingly or to reject Him. God wants those that will worship Him in truth not as robots that are pre-programmed to do so.

AMEN!

There is no GLORY for GOD from robots. HIS children love HIM and worship HIM because they want to. GOD has always had the POWER to force ABSOLUTE OBEDIENCE. We love HIM because HE first loved us.

Brother David, we are just simple human beings, so we won't understand all of the ways of ALMIGHTY GOD. GOD could also have destroyed the devil and the other fallen angels, but HE hasn't yet. Instead, we have the temptation to do wrong and disobey HIM. For now, GOD has told us what he wants us to know in the HOLY BIBLE. HIS children learn more as they study the HOLY BIBLE with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT living inside of us. We also pray and have a personal relationship with GOD. HE hasn't told us all things, but HE will reveal more at HIS appointed time. Until then, there will always be questions that ONLY GOD can answer.

Brother David, I love the Scripture below and many others like it that speak volumes about the Power, Majesty, and Love of GOD. They give us more than just hints about the AWESOME GOD we serve.
