The above verse says, "redeeming the time for the days are evil."

This verse is a prophetic one in my opinion because it says that the days in which we are living are evil.  Also, it encourages to use our time for the Lord wisely because He is coming very soon for His church at the rapture.  Forget the trivial things and focus on the primary aspects of our Christian lives.  His coming compels us to labor for Him to reach the lost while we can still work.

The verse that you are referring to is Eph 5:16 not verse 22.

I don't see it as being prophetic. It is simply telling us the days are evil in the present tense. They were evil then and they are evil now because of this we should not waste our time but rather use it prudently in the Lord's work.

Joh 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
