Military watchdog: Democratic candidates would impose San Francisco values on military

According to military watchdog Elaine Donnelly, it's the goal of all the Democratic presidential candidates to impose San Francisco-style liberal ideology upon America's armed forces -- including allowing homosexuals to openly serve in the military.

Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, says she is disappointed that none of the Democratic candidates responded to her candidate survey which covered a variety of issues that affect the troops. "And yet their record and the positions they've [taken] previously indicate that any one of the Democrats would throw at the military the full weight of social engineering and create a San Francisco-style military," she claims. "I don't think we can afford that."

The military watchdog encourages voters to ask some the candidates questions. "In 1992, Bill Clinton was very low key about his plans to lift the ban on gays in the military. The Democrats today are trying to take the same approach, with the exception of Hillary Clinton," she notes. "She's been very open about it. I think the voters need to start raising some tough questions."

Donnelly says she had hoped that at least one of the Democrats had taken a more responsible approach, but that did not happen. She was pleased, however, at the response she received from GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
