WOUND

         Somewhere deep inside myself
         There lies a festering wound
         Planted there an age ago
         As if I was harpooned
         I do not know what caused the pain
         That still remains within
         But I must give it to my Lord
         Surrender it to Him.

         It seems that I've been motivated
         By this unseen force
         And though I know perfection lacks
         I let it run it's course
         Afraid to delve too deeply
         Into the scary past
         I must invite my Jesus in
         And nail it to the mast.
