I'm in need of help, from someone who's been through this and won.I'm addicted to prescription pain medicine, and have tried desperately to shake this.I was on another site, and things were okay, until I mentioned that I'm a Christian, and that getting help from Jesus is the path I've chosen. They were un-welcome to the idea of me talking about my God.I've been told that a taper-down treatment, helps to get this weeded-out.If anyone can offer anything, I would be most greatful. thanx, Glo

Hi native lady,

Welcome to Christians Unite forums. We're glad to have you here. I hope that you will enjoy the forum and I look forward to seeing many more posts from you and having some wonderful fellowship in the Lord.

First of all I would like to say that we are not medical professionals here and I feel due to the seriousness of this situation to your health that it is important that you seek appropriate medical advise from someone that is and to do so in person not via the internet. It will give the medical professionals a better idea of your situation and what actions you need to take on this.

As for moral and spiritual support, that is one of the reasons that we are here. There are many wonderful Christians here that will be happy to support you in this manner.

I will be praying for you.

It may be beneficial to seek out Godly Counsel.  Christ can and will lead you to victory in this area of your life, so please be diligent in searching for someone with the medical expertise you need but who also is a MATURE Christian.

I will pray for your deliverance too

Love in Christ, Eva

I'll be more than happy to hold your situation up in prayer.

I knew someone who was also addicted to pain meds.......she had worked as a LPN and then a couple years later died from overdosing.  It was so sad to learn of this.

Do be very careful and seek help from your doctor......maybe getting into a program that can help would be a good idea as well.  Just tossing out some suggestions.
