OK, here is my request, (my dilema.. my issue, my problem LOL i could go on like this for a bit hehe!!)
ok, I am ,as some of ya'll know just recently single mom.. I am on a very limited income (assistance)
so.. this is the first Christmas season that I am single. I have 2 boys.. 7 & 14.. My issue and thus my question and reason for looking for some answers and ideas..
I have my decor and such from before.. so come dec 1st I plan to decorate etc,, but, I cant afford to buy my kids gifts and such like I was used to doing so before... and I know that my ex will be really piling it on to them, in order to make me and my efforts look lame and to make him and his house and such look like so much more fun etc.. now dont get me wrong, my kids arent stupid. they know what He is workin towards and they are happy with very little gifts and such, they arent selfish or anything but, I was wondering if any of ya'll had some really Fun and exciting ideas of stuff i can do with and for my kids during this Season which is my favorite time of year,.. to make it happier. cause like I said.. its out first Christmas that we arent all together, (which YES is MUCH better then being together TRUST me but none the less hard for the kids!) I want to start new traditions.. and do some really fun and different things with them, like craft wise and outside stuff and decorating stuff etc,,
So please if ya'll dont mind sharing with me some stuff ya'll do with your kids to make things fun.. (that wont cost me any or at least very little money) I been racking my brain but I got sooo much stuff to deal with in every direction, I just cant think..
so, ok, new, fun, exciting, cheap/free ideas.. in any way shape or form are welcome I could use any idea ya'll got!! and thank ya'll very much!!
Hugs

Well since y'all are in Canada, how about a snowman building contest. The winner getting a candy bar, or something the kids like??
Just make sure everyone wins so you don't have, "I'm better then you are."

Picnic at the park. Keeps your bonding with your children private and sharing ideas and stories a place to remember. And I believe food or place wont be the bottomline but the time shared together and a prayer will make the big difference.
God bless!!!

I'm not much into decorating for Christmas except for a Nativity scene that we put up in our window. As for ideas for kids in the way of crafts. Scrap material, clothes hangers and some glue or thread can make a whole lot of different things and it really keeps the kids busy for quite some time. Just use your imagination. Angels, donkey's cows, Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph all can be made with scrap meterial from some old worn out clothes and an old clothes hanger. A pair of wire cutters can be used to cut the clothes hanger. If you don't have them bending the wire back and forth a few times in the right spot will do the same thing. Toothpicks or pop sickle sticks can be used to make the manger and hay trough. Some of the kids water color paints, colored pens or even crayons can be used to put some color in them. Let the kids be creative in coming up with some of their own ideas. It will give them some great learning lessons and give them a feeling of accomplishing something.

My kids always said their favorite thing was getting into their stockings on Christmas morning, even though it was just a bunch of cheap stuff. I would always wrap each thing individually so it took them a long time to go through it all!
So the boys could each make their own stocking out of felt. Just cut out the shape of a sock and you could either sew them or elmer's glue them together. Then take each son to the dollar store to get things to put in the other's stocking! Let them wrap the little things. A fun thing to wrap in is color book sheets. They could color the pics and then wrap with them. Usually just the right size for the little things that will fit in the sock!
You could maybe find ideas on line too! Just type in craft projects and see what pops up!
In Christ,
