Oklahoma lawmakers object to donated Qurans
Gifts returned to diversity panel; lawmaker says book condones killing
Oct 24, 2007
OKLAHOMA CITY - A gift intended to promote diversity in Oklahoma is generating controversy instead.
Several state lawmakers are returning copies of the Quran to a state panel on diversity after one lawmaker claimed the Muslim holy book condones the killing of innocent people.
In a letter to colleagues, state Representative Rex Duncan says
"most Oklahomans do not endorse the idea of killing innocent women and children in the name of ideology."
At least 17 other legislators have notified the Governor's Ethnic American Advisory Council that they too will return the gift.
The council's chairwoman, herself a Muslim, is denouncing Duncan's assessment of Islam. She says Islam not an ideology but a religion, and a "very peaceful, very inclusive" one.
In Washington, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations calls Duncan's statement "disturbing" and "offensive."

Anyone who has read the koran, knows it promoted killing of innocent people of all races, creed, and religion.

Me thinks, she needs to really read the quran!!

I find CAIR's statement disturbing, and offensive, pushing islam, on Christians, and those that don't want anything to do with islam.

The truth is "disturbing" and "offensive" to those that are not willing to accept the truth. Good for Rex Duncan and the others that went along with him. We need more such people in government that recognizes islam for what it truly is.

Hello Grammyluv,
I just read this here and missed it in the news so far. I'll just say that our "Good-Old Boys" here do something right fairly often, and I consider this to be completely RIGHT.
Every real copy of the Quran, regardless of language, contains the same instructions to kill infidels. If they have time and it's convenient, they are supposed to warn us and give us a chance to convert to Islam first, but that isn't required.
As a result, I don't know how Islam can be considered to be a peaceful religion unless there is a portion of Islam that denounces the Quran. Otherwise, Islam is a violent religion that plainly and bluntly directs Muslims to kill non-Muslims. If they can't find any non-Muslims to kill, they kill each other. It's been a violent religion from the start and nothing has changed. It appears to be impossible to say that the Quran is your holy book and say that you're peaceful at the same time. Bluntly, the Quran teaches senseless bloodshed, conquest, tyranny, and the killing of innocent people. If you find a copy of the Quran without this teaching, it either
ISN'T THE QURAN OR IS A BUTCHERED COPY OF THE QURAN.
Many have read the Quran in an attempt to find out the real truth, and I'm one of them. There is no way to misinterpret what it bluntly states. Furthermore, these violent teachings are being used in Madrassas (sp) on our own soil as we speak. A Madrassa is a Muslim school, and they start the teaching of killing at age 5 or less.
Brothers and Sisters, what I just told you is the truth. If someone says that it's a lie, let them start with the Quran. If any of you doubt it, start with the Quran. It's a fairly small book, and you just can't miss it. It's a book of hate, violence, and
fatal intolerance of any other religion.
There isn't any "If" or "Maybe", just "Concrete Facts".
