my name's lisa...i'm a mother of five.  they range in age: 2 months - 15 yrs.  my youngest son has autism.  i'm a full time student, online; it's the only way i can do it.  i desire to interact w/ more fellow christians.  i often find myself mindlessly veering off the path of God's truth.  i get into all kinds of trouble when i do that because i take stress into my own hands.  i react angrily, overeat, pop prescription pills...anything to relieve the stress.  i find myself living unfaithfully to God's word/promises, in those moments.  my journey is one in which i need to keep my gaze upon Him.  A.W. Tozer says that faith is, in fact, <keeping the eye of our heart fixed upon Him.>  so, i thought accountability would be a great option to help me maintain the right focus.  also, i would love to, in turn, help someone to be accountable in a needed way.  can't wait to hear from you! ~lisa

Hi Lisa and welcome!  You've come to the right place!  You will find lots of encouragement here!
I know where you are wanting to escape from the stress you face.  I was there once myself.  And you already know that isn't the answer and you know where to find the answers so you're already a step ahead.  I also know give our burdens to God can be easier said than done sometimes, however just do it.  Use your the faith you already have.  God says, "Be still and know that I am God".  He already knows what your struggle and situation is so just talk to Him.  He is so longing to hear from you.  And then be still and watch the miracles that will happen!  He loves you and your little family so much and is longing to care for you but you have to just let him.  Pray for deliverance from the pills, believe me He will lift that from you.  Mark each day as a victory!  And each day will bring you closer to Him.  There is no other feeling like it!
Start today Lisa and just see what you are feeling by next this time next week!
All love to you and yours,
Yvette (Grammyluv)

Hello Lisa,

Welcome to Christians Unite. There are many wonderful Christians here that are more than willing to help you all that we are able to in the Lord. While it is great to have others to help you in this manner (and we are most assuredly willing to help) remember that the greatest accountability partner is Jesus Christ Himself. Each time you find yourself slipping, turn to Him. Turn to Him in prayer, turn to His word. Studying the Bible and prayer in our moments of weakness can and will make us stronger in Him.

I will be praying for you in this also.

I look forward to seeing more posts from you and to join in some wonderful Christian fellowship with you.

Hello Lisa,

WELCOME!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite. I will be praying for you. Many Christians come here for a break from the world, some encouragement, and some strengthening in CHRIST. Sister, it sounds like you are one busy lady. I'll suggest that you make some time in your busy day - every day to eat some spiritual food. Our bodies become weak if we don't eat healthy food on a regular basis. The same is true for our Spirit. We must regularly eat healthy Spiritual food for our Spirit to remain well. If we want and need Spiritual Strength in CHRIST, we must pay at least as much attention to our Spiritual food as we do the food for our bodies.

I'm one of the resident grandpas and my name is Tom. Grandpa Tom prescribes regular full-strength doses of GOD'S WORD and good Christian Materials. I'm happy to say that Christians Unite is like a huge buffet of good and GODLY materials, and we have a lot of sweet Christians to fellowship with. I look forward to reading your posts and having fellowship with you.

Love In Christ,
Tom

hello Lisa and welcome to the forums.

5 children!  Wow Amen to you for that.  And I can understand the stress that alone can make... I have 2 and said that was enough.  But the Bible tells us that we are all God's children...so imagine how many He has.  And He cares for each and every one of them like you or I care for the handful we have been given.

Already words of encouragement and prayer are coming forth from the folks here.  And you will receive my prayers as well.  I look forward to more conversations and posts.

Amen GodsCreation!

We are always asking GOD to help us with our trials and troubles. Gladly yielding for GOD'S use day by day is only a reasonable service. It's also an expression of our love and appreciation.

I don't think that I've welcomed you to the forum yet, so WELCOME!

I look forward to reading your posts and having fellowship with you.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Thank you once again for your welcome Tom! I really appreciate it! My husband said to me today that he had like 5 deals come in this week which meant he had a pretty big paycheck coming. He said for some reason he was kind of depressed though...I told him that it was just God's way of trying to tell you something. Ask him, "What is it I can do for you lord?" That's what I told him to do. God always gives an answer and sometimes he uses instances such as these to teach us something or catch our attention. We just got to listen out for him. God just doesn't take the joy out of something because of nothing. He's saying something. Listen, you'll hear it!

Amen GodsCreation!

We all need to get quiet before the LORD on a regular basis. There is no irony that we're not very happy until we yield to GOD and do HIS Will. HIS Will and Path for us will always be the best one for us. That doesn't mean that it will be easy, but our joy will be more full even in this short life.

Love In Christ,
Tom
