Congressman: Bush amused by war dead
Democrat says troops 'get their heads blown off for the president's amusement'

The House GOP leader is calling on Democratic Rep. Pete Stark of California to apologize for stating during debate today that President Bush derives amusement from sending young Americans to Iraq to kill innocent people and then "get their heads blown off."

Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, said Stark should "retract his statement and apologize to the House, our commander-in-chief, and the families of our soldiers and commanders fighting terror overseas."

During debate on the State Children's Health Insurance Program, or S-CHIP, Stark accused Republicans of misplaced fiscal priorities.

Video of C-Span's coverage was posted by Breitbart.tv.

"Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war?" Stark began.

"You don't have money to fund the war or children," he said. "But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."

House Democrats failed to override President Bush's veto of their effort to expand the insurance program to cover 10 million children.
