Nebraska State Senator ‘Sues God’
by Warner Todd Huston

File this under it-takes-all-kinds, but a state Senator in Nebraska has decided to sue God. That’s right, this fool of a politician has decided to pull God into court. The AP reports that Ernie Chambers (who’s probably always been mad that his parents decided to name him “Erine”), the so-called “angriest black man in Nebraska,” claims he is trying to “make a point” about frivolous lawsuits… by making more of them.

Quote
LINCOLN, Neb. - The defendant in a state senator’s lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still. He can be sued in Douglas County, the legislator claims, because He’s everywhere.

State Sen. Ernie Chambers sued God last week. Angered by another lawsuit he considers frivolous, Chambers says he’s trying to make the point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

Claiming God to be a terrorist and murderer, Chambers is seeking a “permanent injunction” against God.

Let’s hope some self-respecting judge throws this nonsense out like it should be thrown out.

Obviously, this grandstanding is a side show. The real issue that Chambers is mad at is a another lawsuit brought against a judge who is claimed to have violated the free speech of one Tory Bowen.

Quote
Chambers said the lawsuit was triggered by a federal suit filed against a judge who recently barred words such as “rape” and “victim” from a sexual assault trial.

The accuser in the criminal case, Tory Bowen, sued Lancaster District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront, claiming that he violated her free speech rights.

For a man who claims to be interested in the “oppressed”, Chambers doesn’t seem too interested in this lone white woman’s free speech very much!

At issue is the sexual assault case that 24-year-old former University of Nebraska-Lincoln student Tory Bowen brought against 33 year-old Pamir Safi. During that trial, Lancaster District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront ruled that the woman could not use the words “assault” or “rape” to describe the actions of the accused, telling her to use the word “sex” instead. Bowen claimed that using “sex” made it seem less threatening or even might make her testimony more like lying under oath.

Quote
“This makes women sick, especially the women who have gone through this,” Bowen said. “They know the difference between sex and rape. If it was sex, I wouldn’t be speaking to you.”

Whatever the silly reason Chambers has decided to bring his frivolous lawsuit to court, he is a vocal hater of Christianity and religion, so his target is entirely predictable.

Still, it’s all stuff and nonsense. This is the sort of waste of time that you get when you elect “activists” to office. Instead of governing, they are forever on the lookout for the next “thing” that will get them on the news to satisfy their craving for media attention.

To answer the lawsuit, it would be amusing if there was a little smoting by the big guy upstairs. But, whatever the outcome, it is just another waste of taxpayers’ money by a malcontent, activist politician. Nice going electing this goof, Nebraska.

Wait till every knee bows to Christ, then Ernie will have a different story.

WOW!

I want to know if Nebraska puts this clown back in office at the next election. I also hope that he gets an old fashioned, hard-line judge who knows the law. Ten days in jail might do him some good.

Time in jail just might do him some good. Then again he would probably just take it as the government oppressing him and file another lawsuit.

Oh wait until round 2...cause if it gets tossed out the ACLU will be all over it.  If it makes it and he loses then the ACLU will be all over it and it will be appealed all the way up to the US SC.

I have very little doubt against that.
