ACLU! Should Government Parent The Parents Or Not?

Members of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) strongly believe that the government should not replace parents as decisionmakers in America’s living rooms. There are some things the government does well, but deciding what is aired on television, and when, is not one of them.

Parents already have many tools to protect their children, including blocking programs and channels, changing the channel, or (my personal favorite) turning off the television.

The ACLU is not blind to the issue at hand. We can see why some parents are upset about what they see on television. But the answer lies in teaching those parents how they can limit what their children watch – not censorship. Congress may choose to play a role in educating parents on the dangers of overexposure to media. But government focus should then be on providing those educational opportunities – not on replacing parents as the primary decisionmakers in their own homes. Government should not parent the parents.

But when it comes to a government run public school teaching homosexual endorsement and indoctrination, then the ACLU argues that parents have no rights.

But Wolf’s claims followed very closely the reasoning submitted earlier in a brief by Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, Massachusetts Teachers Association, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders and other advocates for the “gay” agenda.

Earlier, Mass Resistance President Brian Camenker had wondered why such national groups were “so interested in a parent’s right to decide what moral issues are taught to his children by adults in elementary schools, especially regarding homosexuality.”

“They must see David Parker’s case as quite a threat to their ability to push their message on children,” he had said. His organization has posted information about the judge’s ruling on the Internet for readers to review.

But the judge concluded that even allowing Christians to withdraw their children from classes or portions of classes where the religious beliefs were being violated wasn’t a reasonable expectation.

“An exodus from class when issues of homosexuality or same-sex marriage are to be discussed could send the message that gays, lesbians, and the children of same-sex parents are inferior and, therefore, have a damaging effect on those students,” he opined.

“Under the Constitution public schools are entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy,” the judge wrote. “Diversity is a hallmark of our nation. It is increasingly evident that our diversity includes differences in sexual orientation.”

O.K. ACLU! Which is it? Should Government parent the parents or not? Or do they only have rights when it is in line with the leftist agenda? The only thing the ACLU is consistant on here is their inconsistancy.

That is a abomination before God.

Leviticus 18:22 You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Then why is it illegal to teach about Creation in schools judge??

Brothers,

This attempted and FORCED message is going to backfire and fail in the vast majority of Christian homes. What some wish to accomplish in trying to normalize perversion, wallowing in sin, and abominations before GOD WILL NOT be accomplished.

The actions by gay groups, the ACLU, and liberal judges will simply make the opposition stronger, and the opposition will include many non-Christians. There is zero respect for their cause, and they don't have the power to force their beliefs on anyone. Regardless of what happens in any court, the final results will be the opposite of what they want.
