Amen,

Many years ago a friend of mine, who witnessed the gospel of life to me before I became a Christian, told me this story;

******************

"I watched a documentary last night, and it reminded me of myself.

In this wildlife documentary, they were catching baboons, by simply drilling a hole in a gourd, large enough for them to stick their hands into the gourd that had peanuts in it, and it (the gourd ) was tied to the base of a tree.

The following day after setting a few around the bases of several trees they would come around and collect all the baboons that had been caught, they (the baboons) all had a fistful of peanuts and could not get their hands out no matter how hard they struggled, they held themselves prisoners.

All they had to do was, " open their hands and let go of the peanuts" and set themselves free.

Thats exactly the way I was, I wanted to belong to God, but I also, wanted my peanuts, I had to open my hand and set myself free."

**************

I have always remembered this little story, mainly because I know it is true.

If, we truly have come to FAITH in Christ, we need to let go of the dung pile, which keeps us from truly being free..to worship God.

Blessings,

Petro
