Airline sacrifices goats to appease sky god
Tue Sep 4, 2007 3:41PM EDT

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday.

Nepal Airlines, which has two Boeing aircraft, has had to suspend some services in recent weeks due the problem.

The goats were sacrificed in front of the troublesome aircraft Sunday at Nepal's only international airport in Kathmandu in accordance with Hindu traditions, an official said.

"The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju K.C., a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been.

Local media last week blamed the company's woes on an electrical fault. The carrier runs international flights to five cities in Asia.

It is common in Nepal to sacrifice animals like goats and buffaloes to appease different Hindu deities.

I feel sorry for people who are SO lost, and for those that are SO blind that they will not see.
If only they knew the real and only one true God Himself they wouldn't worry about dying. I know there are things I still have to do here on earth, and people I have to help bring to God, but I honestly look forward to going home.

The very last sacrifice accepted by God was made over 2 thousand years ago on the cross, and the sacrificial Lamb ... none other than God Himself, our Lord and Savior. There is nothing left that man can do God has done it ALL

Note to self:

NEVER EVER set foot on a Hindu plane....

Mechanics rely too much on sacrafice and not enough on God given skill.

I am unlike most fathers.  What I would like my children to have more of is crowns to lay at Jesus feet.
