The president of the American Family Association (AFA) of Pennsylvania says Christian families should avoid a popular amusement park this weekend.
Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg will be the site of a "pride picnic," a celebration of the homosexual lifestyle, this Saturday. Diane Gramley, president of the AFA of Pennsylvania, says while the park doesn't claim to endorse the event, it does not send the right message to families.
"Why should parents who are going there to have a good time have to explain to their children why two men or two women are holding hands or kissing?" she says.
Gramley says that when parents bring their children to the amusement park they should not have to worry about explaining homosexual practices to their children. She says the park's family friendly reputation is tainted when they promote the homosexual lifestyle.
The "pride picnic" at Knoebels Amusement Resort begins at 3 p.m. on August 11 and will run into the evening.
