No evangelical book or article should be printed without a special plea to win the lost. The most important task of every Christian revolves around one objective..and that is to lead people to Christ. In I Cor. 9:22..Paul said "I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." This was his supreme passion. Jesus had a varied ministry. He healed the sick, raised the dead, fed the hungry, performed miracles, taught His disciples and stood up against the Pharisees. Yet, in Luke 19:10, He said,"The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." The greatest joy of heaven is not necessarily when a saint comes home or when Satan loses a battle, but when a sinner repents according to Luke 15:7. Christ greatest teaching to His disciples included loving your enemies, being a light to the world and forgiving your brothers.
We might ask the question...What is a wise man? Is he someone who knows alot? Is he a good business man? Is he someone who climbed a ladder of prominence and recognition? Certainly wisdom deals with the right use of knowledge. However, when we look at it from a divine standpoint, the height of wisdom is to win souls to Christ. We need to answer the question, Why is he that wins souls a wise person?
1) He saves a sinner from hell 2) He is doing the will of God.. 3) Builds up the church 4) Defeats Satan 5) Treasure laid up in heaven...You will hear the words..."Well done".. There is nothing more satisfying than to sit down by the side of a Christian saint and pray. To witness to someone and by the grace of God lead the person to Christ. When you help people find what they are looking for...you also find what you are looking for. The story was told of a cold passive preacher who was called to go to an upstairs apartment and talk to a dying man. The preacher hesitated, yet he went. When he got back down the stairs, someone asked him, "did you get him in?" The preacher responded, "Yes, and I got myself in also."
