Based on a book called "The blessing"-- (the concept is leaving a blessing for each of your love ones as it was a common pratice in the Old Testament)-- what kind of blessing would you leave?

My blessings would be:
To my Love: I hope that the Lord will bless you richly, as God blessed me through you in the time that we have been together! I know that it is hard for you that you are a single mom~ but please keep looking to your Heavenly Father for comfort, and wisdom!

TO my oldest daughter: You have a love for life, and learning from it! Please do not forget of the Creator of All Life! I know that you live with your mom that does not have much use for the Lord-- but Honey, just remember that the Lord loves you.. do not give up.. keep on Keeping on! You have a compassion for others-- do not let coldness of this world stuff that out!

TO my oldest  son: your name means "God has remembered man" Better yet my son, please remember that God has rememebered you! YOu are just a wonderful young man! You are a senisitive man, that are you are a peace maker! Do not let others tell you that as the result of your personality that you are weak.. for you are not my son.. you have strenght that even you do not even realize that you have!

TO my youngest son.. full of life, enjoy your life! But remember sweetheart, that the Lord God Almighty created Life, rejoice in Him! I know that you have a mighty spirit of justice in you! But please do not allow that feeling for justice rule out the love that you have! Do everything that you do for the GLory of God! For that will last for eternity!

To My love's daughter and son
I know that we have not really gotten to know each other that well! But in a short time  you have found a very special place in my heart! Remember kids, give your mom lots of love-- keep working your best for the Glory of God! This is not the end~~~ for we will meet on the other side..

Can there be a better blessing to leave our children (community, church, etc.)?

Here is something I have done.  I have several letters that I have written to be opened upon my death.  One is to my wife, one to my kids, one to my youth at church, one to my men's group I go to, and a few others.  When I die, I want them to know once more what they meant to me, and to pass on a few pieces of advice.

Think about it, what would it mean to your spouse to have a letter after you died.  How about your kids?  Do you think they would keep that letter for the rest of their lives?

This is just my advice.  Yeah, it's interesting to write a blessing here, but invest some time, write a letter(s) and put them up to be opened upon your death.  Every couple of years, get them and rewrite them.  That will be a true blessing you will leave them.

Grace and Peace and Love to you.
