Failed U.K. attacks carry implications for U.S. immigration policy, says observer

A national defense expert and Pentagon advisor says the recent terrorist plots in Great Britain should send a message to U.S. policy makers about the consequences of unfettered Islamic immigration.

Authorities say several doctors are among the suspects arrested in the wake of the failed London car bombings and the fiery ramming of a terminal at the Glasgow Scotland Airport. Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis (U.S. Army-Ret.) says the failed attacks demonstrate that adherence to radical Islamic ideology and theology can motivate even medical doctors to support terrorism.

"It is somewhat surprising that people who are committed to saving life would be involved at all with the taking of life in a mass-murder environment," Maginnis comments. "But we have to recognize that they are governed by a deeper-seeded ideology which drives them to take action that may not make any common sense."

The retired Army officier says Islamic terrorists are driven by a theological and ideological point of view that makes no rational sense -- "and that's what motivates suicide bombers in Iraq, Palestine, Israel, or anywhere in the world," he adds.

Maginnis says the United States must watch its immigration policy and get tough with those who have any affiliation with radical Islamist groups. "We have to persevere in our vigilance as to where people may be and what they may have in mind," he notes.

And on a cautionary note, says Maginnis, the West must recognize that the war on terror is perhaps a tougher battle than people had thought.

Yes, after these attacks by doctors (!!), we should certainly get more tough on our immigration policies in the USA.  This is a real problem....I pray we don't have any attacks here.  I know L.A. is a target.

Out-of-control political correctness, in conjunction with our porous borders, has made us an easy target for radical Islamist.

Sure hope our government will toughen up after these last attacks.
