Egypt calls for cooperation with Iran
Algiers, June 9, IRNA

Iran-Egypt-Meet
The Shaikh of Egypt's Al-Azhar University Mohammad Sayyed Tantavi stressed the significance of boosting scientific and cultural cooperation with Iranian universities.

In a meeting with Head of Iran's Interests Section in Cairo Hossein Rajabi, Tantavi said Egypt is ready to dispatch university professors to Iranian universities and establish a branch of Al-Azhar in Tehran.

He welcomed exchange of scientific texts and educational books and speeches by Iranian university professors at Al-Azhar.

Iran's cultural attache Mohammad-Hassan Zamani, who was also present at the meeting, stressed the need for expansion of relations between research centers of Al-Azhar and Tehran.

"We welcome expansion of scientific and cultural cooperation between the two sides," he said.
