Yup.  That was His real name.  The versions you see elsewhere are derivatives of the original Hebrew name Yeshua (what we would call "Joshua").  The Latin "Jesu" I believe is where the translaters of the early English versions derived the translation "Jesus."  Regardless, there is no more beautiful, more commanding, or more worshipful name under heaven!  Smiley

Jesus would have ended up in English as "Joshua" except that the biblical translators decided to translate the Greek "Iesous" literally. So we ended up with "Iesu" in Latin, which when the letter "J" came into English, became Jesu. The "s" was added on later.

The stuff you are getting those names were
from Greek,but most Jews,especially Orthodox
Jews felt this way.I'd rather feed my kid pork,
than teach them Greek.Jesus comes from Iesous.
Mary,His mother was an Orthodox Jew,do you
think she'd give the Messiah, who was born a
Jew,a Greek name ?
