have any of you heard about this,  it was brought to our attention at bible study last night at church.  3 christian men were slaughtered at this bible study in turkey.  they were slaughtered by 5 men who had managed to get invited to this bible study.  the 5 men were all in their 20's, and said they did it for ala.  these 3 christian men, kissed their wives and families good bye and went to the bible study, and as soon as one of the men started the meeting in prayer, the 5 men struck.  i am praying for their families, and for the souls of these 5 young men.  they were meeting in secret because turkey is a muslim country, and you had to be invited to the meeting you couldn't just walk in off the street.  so these 5 men planned this for a while.

I haven't heard of this particular incident until now. There is however many similar incidents being reported in Turkey on a daily basis as well as in places like China, Viet Nam, Karnataka, Eritrea, Uzbekistan, Sudan and many more around the world. It is a dangerous world, especially so in these other countries, for Christians. Our prayers should be for all brothers and sisters world wide as well as for the lost, prayers that the lost will come to know our Lord and Saviour.

Hello Gina,

Sister, there is an excellent and free Christian publication called "Voice Of The Martyrs" with continuous stories like this from around the world. There are numerous links on Christians Unite for a free email subscription. I take it and read it as a reminder of our freedom to worship and how precious that freedom is. We take so many things for granted that GOD has blessed us with. I also think that it's good to stay informed so we will know better how to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who have things much worse than we do.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Colossians 1:9-12 NASB  For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

I recently read an article from Mission Network News that Iraqi Christian refugees in Turkey are in desparate conditions.  They fled one horrible situation in Iraq and are now in danger in Turkey.

Believers Murdered in Turkey
[Thu, 19 Apr 2007 14:35:21 -0600]
Three Christian men, working with a nondenominational Christian publishing house, were murdered earlier today while working at their office in Malatya, Turkey. According to news reports they were tied to chairs and their throats were slit. The three believers went to Malatya because it is an area with the least access to the good news. Pray for God’s peace and comfort for the families left behind and that good will come ultimately come from this deplorable deed.

Hi f150nurse,

Welcome to Christians Unite. Yes, this should be the prayers of all Christians.

I hope that you will join us in more good Christian fellowship here.

That's so awful.  I try to help native missionaries working in Muslim countries for this reason.
