Iran's forces mark Persian Gulf Day
Sun, 29 Apr 2007 09:57:43
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran released a statement on Sunday, marking National Persian Gulf Day.

"The enemies will not succeed in changing the name of the Persian Gulf," said the statement.

Persian Gulf day shows the realities, and the historical, political and geographical facts of the people living in this vital and strategic region, the statement reads.

With its powerful, strong and spiritual forces, Iran defends its maritime borders, and fully monitors the Persian Gulf region and the Gulf of Oman to thwart any threats by the enemy.

"The Persian Gulf littoral states can reach lasting security in the Persian Gulf by uniting and forming a military alliance and by pushing out the occupying forces ."

"This year we mark National Persian Gulf Day at a time when t occupying forces are based in the Persian Gulf to on the pretext of ensuring security in the region while they add to the insecurity of the region," the statement says.
