Pray that God will rebuke my in-laws for being total hypocrites. They have no true love for Christ and like to make a pretense for others to see.  May God reveal them for what they truly are, unsaved religionists. Pray God will deliver me from having to be around them.
2Ti 4:14  Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

2Th 3:2  And pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for all do not have the faith.
2Th 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and guard you from the evil.

I will not pray for a revengeful attribute as that. I will pray that the Lord will open the eyes and soften the hearts of all involved.

Pray His will be done.

God knows what things I have suffered because of them.

Hi growingingrace,

As your screen name indicates, growing in grace, we need to learn and to grow in grace, the grace for others that God has had for us.

Mat 5:44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Rom 12:14  Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Yes, it is extremely difficult at time. Especially so when we are hurting from the actions of others. I pray the Lord will have mercy on all involved and will open their eyes and soften the hearts.

I will also be praying for you that the Lord will soon lead you in the direction He wants you to go.

Another verse that helps me is "Overcome evil with good".  That truly gives one a victory in situations like this.

Romans 12:17-21

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.  If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.   Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.  Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."   Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

...walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph. 4:1-3

I will not pray for vengance.

GrowinginGrace, I will pray that God guides you, and gives you the wisdom you need.  I will also pray that God eases and softens, the words and actions of your in-laws.

GrowinginGrace, I agree, vengeance is not the answer.  Only through love, will you find harmony.  I pray the Lord will renew the spirits of all involved.

Luke 6:32    For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
1Cor 13:13  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Heb. 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
