No Reason for Russian-U.S. Missile Defense Cooperation — Top Russian Official

According Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov there is no reason for Russian-U.S. cooperation in strategic anti-missile defense, Interfax news agency reported.

“As for possible cooperation in strategic anti-missile defense, honestly speaking, I see no reasons for that,” Ivanov told reporters in Yekaterinburg.

“We believe this strategic anti-missile defense system is somewhat chimerical, to put it mildly,” he said.

“One can find a much cheaper response to any such system,” Ivanov added.
