Brothers and Sisters,
I think there is a good comparison that can be made between physical needs and health versus spiritual needs and health. In fact, I think this comparison is quite logical and reasonable. I'll mention some common sense physical needs that relate to health, and you can make the comparison for yourself.
1 - How often does your body absolutely require water and other fluids to keep your physical body hydrated?
2 - How often does your body need food and nourishment for you to survive and/or to function normally?
3 - How often does your body require rest for you to function normally?
4 - If you want to enjoy the best physical health possible, how many other things are common sense measures to achieve that? Examples: healthy diet, vitamins, minerals, exercise, etc., etc.
5 - Which set of priorities are more important - physical or spiritual?
Brothers and Sisters, let me just give you one example to let this analogy sink in. Will you be physically strong and healthy if you eat, drink, and rest one hour each week on Sunday? The rest of the analogy should be common sense, and it will definitely involve your overall sense of well-being and happiness.
Are you neglecting or almost starving a top priority in your life? YOU DECIDE!
Love In Christ, Tom
Psalms 127:1 NASB Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
Ephesians 1:18-23 NASB I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
