Hi i'm Ira. I'm turning 15 this May 23rd. I'm a frustrated Christian musician. I might repeat in high school because i have extremely low grades. Teachers say I'm really smart and can get into top 1. Its just i don't do any effort, in fact I believe i'm lazy. I was thinking of suicide since i heard i might repeat high school but afraid to do so because i know that i'll go to hell. I've been a Christian for a year now. I've been filled by the Holy Spirit. I've received evangelism training, leadership training, but I've turned back to my old ways because i was frustrated with my leaders. Now i'm seeking to go back and live a Holy Spirit filled life.

Hi IraJames, spectre260, login_beta23,
I see that you are back again under a new user name. I think that perhaps your leaders may have been frustrated with you also. As a 15 yr old it may be difficult sometimes to figure what you want to do and where you want to go in your life.
I'm also glad that you have come to the conclusion that suicide is not the answer. It doesn't solve your problems but rather creates more.
You need some direction in your life, set some serious goals and stick to working seriously toward those goals. You may not like the things that your elders have to say but you do need to listen to them and let them help guide you.
Why the word "father" in your new user name?

Good day Ira.
I agree with what PR had to say. And can only add to it by stating you need to being two other things.
Praying and studying your Bible. Listen to the elders as they are wiser than you may think. At 15 you are at an age where you may often think that older people are crazy and just do not understand. But remember that we were all 15 at one time or another. And we have years of experience (and some people...many years
) after the fact to realize mistakes that were made and to have learned from them.
You may not like the personality of certain elders. But that does not mean that what they have to say is useless or not worthy of respect.
So my advice would be to trust, pray, study, talk, in that order. Trust that God can do all things and taking care of you is one of them, pray without ceasing, Study your Bible, talk with people who are more mature in God's Word than you are and seek guidance to those that are wise.

Well because my classmates are calling me Father since I our camp cuz I spoke in tounges and I use alot of bible verses when telling them advices and stuff.
Well i'm glad you guys remembered me. I couldn't get advices from our church because all I get is criticism. They tell me advices that are not based on the bible. They always meddle with my personal affairs and they think they really know me but they don't. They don't understand how I feel and I only get annoyed with them.
I've been praying alot these times and reading the Bible over and over again, especially Revelations. Bad thing is, I don't feel God when I'm praying. I only feel Him when I worship. I know that you guys cannot help me with my affairs with God but I will always seek his face.
I'm not too comfortable with the church I'm attending but I don't want to leave my friends and the opportunities of serving others. I know God needs me in that church as a musician. I'm frustrated though.

Hi again Ira,
You seem to be asking for Biblical advice so here is some even though you may not like it. First off when we pray it is not about "feeling" God. God is there whether we feel Him or not. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us. He is there and He is listening even though it may seem that He is not answering us He is still there and He answers in His time and in His way.
Not all advice an elder has to give can necessarily be connected to the Bible right away. Much of it has to do with experience and as long as it is given in a Godly manner still should be listened to. Being frustrated at the age of 15 is not uncommon. Many times we want want things to happen yesterday and become frustrated because it doesn't happen when we think it should. All good things come in the Lord's time not ours. Hang in there and wait on the Lord as patience is a virtue.
Now to the father thing. I realize that it is a custom in your area to call someone father out of respect or at least it used to be in the older customs of that area. I would like to remind you of the words of Jesus in this matter and leave the rest of this to Him and your heart.
Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Mat 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Hello Ira,
Pastor Roger is right. Also remember that we live by faith not by sight. You need to believe that God is listening to you.
I am doing a very deep study on the Book of Philippians and it is a very uplifting Book. It talks a lot about joy and rejoicing. Maybe it would benefit you to read it as well.
I know that it is hard to be a teenager, but God has a purpose for you so don't let the devil steal your joy. Remember that you are where God wants you to be, when He wants you to be somewhere else He will let you know. I agree with you worshiping and praising God is one way to really feel His presence.

I agree with all above. I would also recommend not reading Revelations. Primarily because Revelations is not a book to read when working on "life" issues. And based on what you have said before you are still young in your walk with Christ. And there is much much more value to be gained at this stage from reading the Gospels or Paul's writings.

Its more of an insult actually.... not all the people in my place are Christians...even at the Christian school I go to

Hello Ira,
Sometimes the Lord speaks to our heart in ways that no one else seems to understand. If you feel so sad and uncomfortable in your church surroundings, and you feel and see the lack of good strong Christian members and leaders, you may need to leave your friends and try a different church for awhile and see if your mood and thoughts are again filled with the hope and wonder of our Lord. I recently had to make that decision and it was painful and I wasn't sure if I could do it, but in the end I found a small country church and people who were strong and on solid ground. The church I left had become very christmatic and were trying new and strange things that were not in following with the Bible, I too had become sad and no longer felt any joy in my heart. I prayed about it long and hard before leaving. I will keep you in my prayers. I care. I am glad you are coming here to share and post. May the blessings of the Lord be upon you this day and always.
