TV meteorologist fires back at Weather Channel
Says he knows of no TV forecaster who buys man-made warming 'hype'
The Weather Channel Mess
Well, well. Some “climate expert” on “The Weather Channel” wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for “tolerance”, huh?
I have been in operational meteorology since 1978, and I know dozens and dozens of broadcast meteorologists all over the country. Our big job: look at a large volume of raw data and come up with a public weather forecast for the next seven days. I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:
*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up. This is big money, make no mistake about it. Always follow the money trail and it tells a story. Even the lady at “The Weather Channel” probably gets paid good money for a prime time show on climate change. No man-made global warming, no show, and no salary. Nothing wrong with making money at all, but when money becomes the motivation for a scientific conclusion, then we have a problem. For many, global warming is a big cash grab.
*The climate of this planet has been changing since God put the planet here. It will always change, and the warming in the last 10 years is not much difference than the warming we saw in the 1930s and other decades. And, lets not forget we are at the end of the ice age in which ice covered most of North America and Northern Europe.
If you don’t like to listen to me, find another meteorologist with no tie to grant money for research on the subject. I would not listen to anyone that is a politician, a journalist, or someone in science who is generating revenue from this issue.
In fact, I encourage you to listen to WeatherBrains episode number 12, featuring Alabama State Climatologist John Christy, and WeatherBrains episode number 17, featuring Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University, one of the most brilliant minds in our science.
WeatherBrains, by the way, is our weekly 30 minute netcast.
I have nothing against “The Weather Channel”, but they have crossed the line into a political and cultural region where I simply won’t go.

Brothers and Sisters,
All of this hype is ridiculous. People should know that a single natural event lasting minutes or hours can change things more than man is able to in 100 years. It could be a volcano or any number of natural events that man has no control over at all.
Several recent studies about global warming are hilarious. If there is such a thing as global warming caused by man, gas from cows would be the first thing to stop.
YES - you heard this right. Man would need to stop raising cattle to eat and obtain milk to drink. In terms of science, global warming is a very bad joke. If eliminating cattle doesn't sound like a very good idea, a much better idea would be to CORK all of the volcanoes, weld all of the plates of the earth together to stop earthquakes, manipulate the jet stream for our purposes, give mankind remote controls for winds and ocean currents, re-tilt the earth on its axis, harness all solar storms for energy without heating effects, and basically take charge of nature.
NOW - if any of the above sounds smart to you, please volunteer to work on it. BUT, don't take any tax-payer dollars to do it.
NEWS FLASH: GOD is in charge of what HE created, and GOD does as HE pleases in Heaven and on earth. HIS Will be done, and it will be!

I love your assessment of the situation. It's humorous in part yet right on the mark.

Man have been wrong before. Most weathermen can't even predict next weeks weather with great accuracy. Meanwhile do we really want to increase taxes, put people out of jobs, go hide in caves or jump off bridges just yet? (note by the tone of some of these people, that's what I'm expecting them to advise all of us to do next)

Here are some things you probably haven't heard in all the recent hysteria being spouted about global warming by too many politicians, media and environmental activists. To keep this controversy in perspective:
Glaciers melted and ice ages locked the Earth in their grip long before we existed
Kyoto.....
....... predicting climate change and forecasting weather are different issues. Unfortunately, too many politicians, environmental activists and media who often have a political agenda to ram through the Kyoto accord, are deliberately blurring this important distinction.
This is understandable because the UN treaty is highly controversial.
Many Kyoto critics charge it is more concerned with transferring wealth from the First World to the Third World than seriously reducing man-made greenhouse gases.

Global warming comes and goes in 1,500 year cycles which may have more to do with cosmic rays than fossil fuel emissions, according to a new book.
Quote:
The authors of Unstoppable Global Warming - Every 1,500 Years, say that history, ice core studies and stalagmites all agree on a natural cycle at roughly that interval that is superimposed on the longer, stronger ice ages and interglacial phases.
They point as evidence of this natural cycle to the "Climate Optimum" - a period of warmer and wetter weather than the present Earth's climate, which took place 9,000 years ago to 5,000 years ago, and a cooling event 2,600 years ago.
Global warming 'just a natural cycle'

In VERY large type, the New York Times of January 16 proclaimed "The Warming of Greenland." As has become increasingly typical of their reporting on polar climate, that's about half of the "news that's fit to print."
First, the current sea-level rise contributed by this amount of ice loss is probably too small to even be able to measure in coming decades. The satellite data show a reduction of 4 hundred-thousandths of Greenland's total ice per year (while Boggild's figure "could" be around 12 hundred-thousandths). Multiplying the satellite-based figure times 23 feet gives the annual rise in sea level of 0.01 inch per year. Averaged over three decades, that's a third of an inch, which indeed too small to be detectable. Over a century, the rise becomes a bit more than an inch. Boggild's guesstimate yields 3.5 inches per century.

When near-hysteria takes over the sharemarket (the 1960s nickel boom, the 1987 boom/bust, the 1990s dotcom bubble), fuelled by unrealistic profit projections, older heads know a major turning point is near.
Emotions take over, fortunes are made on speculative stocks, and the man in the street is an expert. Anyone who decries the consensus of the day is at best ignored, or at worst vilified. And then the market "naturally" rights itself, order is restored (with much financial damage) and common sense rediscovered.
The parallels with the global warming discussion are unnerving. With Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, stirring emotions, and the Stern report and that of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change providing long-range scientific and financial projections from computer models, we are being pressed to believe that inaction on cutting fossil fuel use will bring disaster.

As a scientist I've learned never to say "never." So human-caused global warming is always a hypothesis to hold, at least until climate science becomes mature. (Climate science is very immature right now: Physicists just don't know how to deal with hypercomplex systems like the earth weather. That's why a recent NASA scientist was wildly wrong when he called anthropogenic warming "just basic physics." Basic physics is what you do in the laboratory. If hypercomplex systems were predictable, NASA would have foolproof space shuttles --- because they are a lot simpler than the climate. So this is just pseudoscientific twaddle from NASA's vaunted Politically Correct Division. It makes me despair when even scientists conveniently forget that little word "hypothesis.")

Humans may not contribute to climate change. I have no problem with that theory.
Global warming maybe part of a natural cycle. I have no problem with that theory either.
What does concern me is that some people think, we have nothing to be concerned about. History has proven that climate change has brought about major changes in human lives. I am sure the ice age was not pleasant nor was the warm climate change that some believe brought about great disruption to the early Egyptian empire. Droughts, extreme temperatures, hurricanes or other storms are not fun things to live through even if it is part of a "natural cycle".
Those ice caps are getting smaller, ocean levels are rising and so is the heat. I personally think that climate change is going to play a big role during the tribulation.
I tried to research this from both sides of the issue.
One thing alot of people are not talking about is the lack of a major volcanic explosion and/or an impact from the skies. Both of these scenarios would cause massive amounts of debris to be flung into the upper atmosphere. We haven't had either of these in a thousand years? If we do have one, then everyone will be talking about Global cooling and mini-ice ages.
Since we haven't witnessed one in a while, all the debris that has been sent up by past disasters has slowly settled back to Earth, and the skies have become clearer, enabling a slow and gradual warming trend due to more of the Sun's rays entering our atmosphere.
There are just so many factors to consider when discussing these issues.
The bible states that men's hearts will fail them for fear of what is coming, I believe this issue of climate change will be among the issues causing this fear.
Man needs to remember,
God
is in control.

Amen Brother, to this I agree. God is indeed in control and whatever the situation is those who belong to God have nothing to fear.
I don't believe that what we are seeing right now is "global warming". What we are seeing is a world that is recovering from a world wide catastrophe ... Noah's flood. After the flood the waters receded and left us with a minor ice age. Nothing to the extent that secular scientists claimed it was. Most of the geological "evidence" that they claim was due to an ice age was instead due to a global flood, volcanic activity, fast receding waters and such. This is also what Creation scientists believe from the evidence they see.
Any warming we may be seeing is due to recovering from all of that. In the end there will be more catastrophes that will bring about what God tells us will happen according to His word. Then there will indeed be major climate changes to the likes that we have never seen.

Some things that secular scientists can't explain. During the time frame they list as being the great ice age it is also believed (by secular scientists) that it is the same time in which arid, very hot deserts grew substantially in size. One of these deserts is the one in Australia and another one that was supposedly there before the ice age that grew quite a lot during it is the Egyptian Desert.

You're totally right. That's because they reject the Bible as truth and do all they can to prove that.
