Sin's pleasures have such great appeal,
They truly look like bargains rare;
But seldom do we clearly see
The hidden cost that we must bear. D. De Haan

Don't hide your sin and cover up,
Pretending there is nothing wrong;
Instead, confess it and repent,
Then God will fill your heart with song. Sper
God placed us in a body of believers to support one another. Admit that you aren't prefect. Then seek the counsel of a godly brother or sister in Christ.
Be what God intends you to be-----don't pretend to be what you're not.

I really liked this. You know there is nothing more depressing to the spirit than unconfessed sin. I just hate carrying guilt around and not mention separation from God that one expirences when carrying unconfessed sin. And what freedom once you confess and know that God forgives you! Your step is lighter and your smile is brighter! It feels like sunshine on a rainy day!
As to not being perfect.....There is nothing more wonderful than knowing that God loves me "just as I am"!

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Col. 3:2
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. I John 2:15
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matt. 6:19-21
We walk by faith, not by sight. II Cor. 5:7
We faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory: while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. II Cor. 4:16-18
An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. I Pet. 1:4

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt. 11:28-30

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm. Isa. 25:4
Christ ... suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously. I Pet. 2:21-23

Thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. Isa. 38:17
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. The living God giveth us richly all things to enjoy. I Tim. 6:17
Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; ... then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God: ... for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth. Deut. 8:11, 12, 18
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psa. 127:1, 2
They got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. Psa. 44:3
There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Psa. 4:6
