THE SEASON!

Brothers and Sisters,

I wanted to share some thoughts and a portion of a conversation that I just had with a dear friend.

For this time of the year, we many times hear, "JESUS is the reason for the Season".

Is this true? Does JESUS have a season?

Many other people often call the day that they go to church "The LORD'S DAY".

Is this true? Does the LORD have a day?

There are other days in the year that we celebrate some facet of GOD or JESUS.

Does GOD or JESUS only have a few facets that we should celebrate? Are there only a few days each year that we should give thanks and celebrate the fact that we belong to JESUS?
________________________________

The answer to all of these questions is "NO!" Let's reverse the questions and ask some questions on the other side of the coin.

Does every hour, minute, and second belong to GOD?

Does every good thing we have come from GOD?

Did JESUS CHRIST rescue us from the curse of sin and death by dying on the Cross in our place?

Was the Birth of JESUS CHRIST a planned for event that ALMIGHTY GOD knew about before the foundation of the world?

Did JESUS CHRIST know before the foundation of the world that HE would take the punishment for our sins in HIS own HOLY BODY and die on the Cross for us?

Is the Eternity of all Christians SEALED with the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD every day, every hour, and every minute?

Should we give thanks and celebrate every day for the many blessings that GOD has bestowed on us?

The answer to all of these questions is "YES"!

Now, let's just talk about some things in a very general way. There really shouldn't be any season, day, or time that we should not be about the business of our Heavenly FATHER. JESUS CHRIST paid for us in full, and we have been delivered to JESUS as HIS Possessions. Our love and thanks should be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All Christians should have a desire to please GOD continually, not just on special days or special hours. Are there really any special days or hours in the eyes of GOD? YES, but they wouldn't be the days and hours that the world recognizes. GOD recognizes the times that we yield to HIM, do HIS Will, worship HIM, praise HIM, give thanks to HIM, and pray in all reverence to our CREATOR.

Have you ever thought about what ALMIGHTY GOD, our CREATOR, thinks when we have taken time out of our busy schedules once in awhile and reserved them for HIM? HE is the KING OF KINGS, and don't you think that HE expects and deserves more from us? We need to stop thinking that we are doing GOD a favor and showing HIM the proper Place in our lives by just reserving a few hours or days for HIM.

ALMIGHTY GOD has given Christians access to the Throne of HIS GRACE 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and HE is our CREATOR - the KING OF KINGS. JESUS CHRIST did die on the Cross for us and rescued us from the pits of hell, so how much gratitude and love should we have for HIM? Can a Christian really come up with a reasonable answer for this question? - NO!

Everything we do for GOD should be out of hearts of love and gratitude, not one of paying an installment payment for what HE'S done for us. WHY? - We don't have anything worthy for payment, and we could never earn or deserve what HE'S done for us. The Holy Bible does tell us many things that make GOD happy, but HE'S only happy with them when we do something solely for love of HIM. It can't be for our own recognition, and it certainly can't be any kind of payment to repay JESUS for dying in our place. It would be an insult to JESUS CHRIST to think that we have anything worthy to offer in comparison to HIS PERFECT and COMPLETED WORK ON THE CROSS.

Matthew 22:36-40  NASB  "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

There are more specific instructions in the HOLY BIBLE, but the above really covers them all. Think about things for a few minutes. It's nice to have a time of the year when many people think about food, clothing, and shelter for the poor, but is there really any day during the year that we shouldn't be thinking of these problems. JESUS has told us to do these things, and we should do them continually out of hearts of love. JESUS told us that whatever we do for the least of HIS, we have done for HIM. Should we really need a special season of the year to be concerned with these things? NO! - these should be every day things for all Christians.

The points I'm trying to make for Christian are very simple:

1 - Every day is another wonderful day that the LORD has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

2 - Every day and every hour is a good time to give thanks to GOD, worship HIM, praise HIM, and making HIM the most important part of our lives.

3 - JESUS CHRIST is our ALL-IN-ALL for Eternity! We don't deserve it, but we will be spending Eternity with HIM. It will be because HIS Perfect Work and Sacrifice on the CROSS - certainly not because of anything we have done or can do.

4 - There are some secrets that become known to Christians when they yield to GOD and do HIS Will. There is a happiness and joy that comes that is much greater than anything the world has to offer. "These things I tell you that your joy might be more full." Many portions of Scripture contain phrases like this, and Christians can know the "JOY" spoken of ONLY by yielding to the Will of GOD. If you guessed that "LOVE" will be part of it, you're RIGHT!

5 - Brothers and Sisters, let's celebrate JESUS, give thanks, worship HIM, praise HIM, and seek HIS Will every day - NOT just a special day, a special season, or a special time of some sort. There isn't ANY special day, season, or time - IT ALL BELONGS TO GOD! Let us put things into proper perspective and KNOW that any real riches we have are in CHRIST ALONE!

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Revelation 3:20 NASB  'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Psalms 111:7-8 NASB  The works of His hands are truth and justice; All His precepts are sure.  They are upheld forever and ever; They are performed in truth and uprightness.
