Just got done watching the Brit Hume interview with President Bush. One hour long, minus ads. Was very good.

I already said that I think is a great president. Now I say he is an American hero. Some may say that goes too far; but if sports stars can be heros, then Bush definately is one also.

He spoke a lot about his faith, and how he prays every day, and at different times, in different places. When asked "when" he prays, he said, "whenever the Spirit moves me."
Did anyone else see it, and what did you think?

Yours in Christ.  Roy.

Missed the interview. However, Christians are allowed to make judgements according to God's word.

I find most politicians including the president of America lacking in the attributes of a Christian as given by God in His word.

I wouldn't have minded seeing that at all, Royo.

But I'd probably have to go with Ollie on this, and I think Psalm119 too, if she were here.

She'd say Bush doesn't go far enough.  THe political position requiring too many compromises.

I think I'd probably agree with that.  There are issues where there are gray areas.  Divorce for example.  Divorce is not just always, blatantly "wrong".

But today, now, we are being hit with issues that are just "wrong".  Homosexuality, for one.  Teaching promiscuity, for another.  Ordering "God" out of the public arena completely.  Not being able to close a public prayer in Jesus' Name.

As a politician Bush is being forced to fudge on those issues.

When the issues are not totally b&w, fudging may be the path.

But when they are b&w??

How did Daniel do it, as a leader, in Babylon?   I sometimes wonder.

But it does say, he prayed three times daily, I believe there.  Which is what got him into trouble.

And apparently, at least P. Bush is doing that, from your report there.

Good post, Roy.  Despite criticism that he "hasn't gone far enough," I am overly impressed with GW.  May God bless him.

I am 45, worked on the Carter campaign as I was only 17 and couldn't vote for him, and I have never missed exercising my priviledge to vote. I have never voted for a Republican for any office. Of course, I've never thought that our nation was standing at a threshold  before either. I know that our President is subjected to many powers, and in as much as George Bush has been able to profess the name of Jesus, and to proclaim himself as a man of faith, that he has duly exercised that freedom. I have been deeply prayerful about this election, and folks...I must vote for Mr. Bush.
It is my opinion, one that springs from very deep inside, that he is the appointed man for this time in history, and we may well hear with our ears, before this term comes to a close, our President lead this nation in prayer.
In as much as the very word of God commands us to pray for our leaders, I say, Pray for George Bush, and in the event that he is defeated, then pray for Mr. Kerry.
It is our responsibility to keep our leaders, and our nation covered by the blood...applied through prayer.
May America return to its foundation of being a nation whose heart is turned to God.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!

All Christians need to pray every day for our leaders, regardless of whether we agree with them or like them. I do pray for President Bush every day, not just because I like him and respect him. I realize he is human and will make some mistakes, but I find it comforting to know that he prays for guidance and strength. I've heard him publicly talk about Jesus, and I've heard him thank the millions of Christians who pray for him every day.

I hope and pray that this nation will turn back to God, instead of turning its back on God. There are some recent events that cause some optimism that our country will again be happy to claim UNDER GOD! We have a long path to return, and many will fight ever inch of progress in yielding to God. We have hosts of suffering people who ONLY GOD can help. God has richly blessed this country, even though we have miserably failed to maintain our Godly heritage.

Love In Christ,
Tom
