Ok ....  we don't do Bible bashing here but this has gone too far. These two "bibles" do not even qualify as a Bible. They are books of the devil for sure. These supposed "biblical specialists" are only specializing in the destruction of God's word.

German scholars unveil "politically correct" Bible

A group of 52 biblical “specialists” have released a new version of the Bible in which inclusive language and “political correctness” have replaced some “divisive” teachings of Christianity in order to present a “more just language” for groups such as feminists and homosexuals.

According to the AFP news agency, the new version of the Sacred Scriptures was presented at a book fair in Frankfurt. Entitled, The Bible in a More Just Language, the translation has Jesus no longer referring to God as “Father,” but as “our Mother and Father who are in heaven.” Likewise, Jesus is no longer referred to as the “Son” but rather as the “child” of God. The title “Lord” is replaced with “God” or “the Eternal One.” The devil, however, is still referred to with masculine pronouns. “One of the great ideas of the Bible is justice. We have made a translation that does justice to women, Jews, and those who are disregarded,” said Pastor Hanne Koehler, who led the team of translators.

Last December, Matin Dreyer, pastor and founder of the sect “Jesus Freaks,” published the Volksbibel (The People’s Bible), in a supposed attempt to make the message of Christianity more “accessible.” Jesus “returns” instead of resurrects, and multiplies “hamburgers” instead of the fish and loaves. In the parable of the prodigal son, the younger son squanders his inheritance at dance clubs and ends up “cleaning bathrooms at McDonald’s.”

At least they got that right and justice will be meted out to those that have such disregard for God's word.

WOW!  I think that I remember some sort of news article that I read about this. You're right - it isn't a Bible, and those who worked on it were NOT translators. Those who worked on it were writers of fiction.

Real translators have some differences because of various sources of ancient texts and sometimes several accepted meanings of certain ancient language words. What you are describing does not involve an effort to translate at all and NO scholarship of any kind in the use of ancient texts. SO, what they wrote is not a Bible, just a fiction novel that contains blasphemy of ALMIGHTY GOD and intentional destruction of GOD'S WORD. If it was called a Bible, it would be with a little 'b" - bible, much like the satanic bible.

It's very sad that they think this fiction novel will help anyone (i.e. gays, lesbians). It is very cruel to withhold the truth from people who are dying in the misery of their sins without JESUS. Sin always involves misery and consequences, even in this short life. BUT, in these circumstances, we are really talking about eternal misery and consequences. Lying to people and trying to make them feel good about their sins is a very cruel and heartless thing to do. I couldn't handle something like this on my conscience, and I don't think that any other real Christian could either.

To top it off, they invented fictional characters to have faith in. You mentioned McDonald's, and the clown, Ronald McDonald, could help people more than the fictional characters they invented. I wouldn't even consider what they did as a good novel because good novels usually have some semblance to reality.

In short, the people's bible is a very sad and evil work. It will harm many people for eternity.

I wonder if these politically correct fools have read Revelation 22:18-19 I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book. 19 And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy [these predictions relating to Christ's kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions or warnings pertaining to them], God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book.

I guess this would be the next step... I mean they have taken God/Jesus out of schools, music, sacred grounds etc... and this and that ...... so now they want to take the HOLY book and massacre it too.
