Hi all,

I've been a Christian for a short time now, and I am finially reading the Bible and learning so much from it. Here is some scripture that touches my heart and fills me with hope.

Galatians 5: 22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

John 15: 1-8

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Abide in Me, an I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit;  for apart from Me you can do nothing.

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.

By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Feel free to share scripture that touches your soul and gets you throught the hard times, that lifts you up when your having a bad day, ect.

                             God Bless you   Terri

Hi Terri,
One of my favorite Scriptures is Psalm 27:4 -- "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His Temple."

Thinking upon this Scripture keeps me focused; kind of like looking into that mirror in 2Corinthians 3:18 and becoming more and more like Him. As I think on that I have to think of 1John 3:1-2. It reminds me that all the work of God in me (and you too) is going to be a smashing success! We're destined to be like He is!

What a thought! Makes we want to break out into singing the Alleluia Chorus, but don't sweet it, I won't. I've heard me sing before, so I'll just think about it!    Grin

God bless,

John1one

Hi John1one,

Sing brother, sing!!!! He, He.My favorite song is: "Lord I Lift your Name on High, Lord I love to sing your praises..... You came from Heaven to Earth to show the way....... In Church this song is soooo beautiful as it echos throught the Church. It gives me goose bumps.

My voice isn't angelic either but when it comes to singing to the lord, I let the vocal cords do their thing.

Thanks for sharing your favorite scripture!!!! I really like 2Corinthians 3-18. It gives hope, and I can see where it would keep you focused on the Lord. Also if each of us could see God in one another the world would be a much better place.

Thanks for sharing!! Have a great Day....

Hi Symphony,

What is your favorite scripture? What lifts you up and gives you hope when your day is hard or trouble some? Or what scripture speaks to your heart and fills you with joy?

I've shared mine, now it's your turn.

Hi Forrest,

Thanks for the scripture. The universe is small compare to God and all  he can do.

By the way I like all your cool welcome icons!!!!

Hi Ambassador4christ,

Really like your post!!! Great picture. Thanks for scripture.

Last night I was reading the Bible and I can upon Romans 13:8-12.

Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

For this, " You shall not commit Adultery, You shall not Murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covent," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying,"You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

And this do, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed.

The night is almost gone, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the deeds of darkness  and  put on the armor of light.

I really liked that, and wanted to share it. I wish more people would love their neighbor as they love themselves. Or even just take time to get to know one another and except on another.
                    Have a great Day!!!

Luke 23:43

"Jesus answered him, 'I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.'"

It's a really encouraging verse.

Hi J.E.

Thanks, that is encouraging. I am writing down these verses in my journal so when bad days arise all these verses will be on hand and give me hope and inspiration. Also when others are having hard times to share with them as well.
                          Thanks J.E.

Quote
"...whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists..."

(Hebrews 11:6b)

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligenly seek him.

God does not exist. He was, is, and always will be. We, the creation exists.

God is spirit, eternal. The creation is physical, temporal.

I thought this was neat...

The Bible in 55 Words:

God made,
Adam bit.
Noah arked,
Abraham split.

Jacob fooled,
Joseph ruled.

Bush talked,
Moses balked.
Pharaoh plagued,
People walked.

Sea divided,
Tablets guided.

40 years of sand,
Promised land.
Saul freaked,
David peeked.

Prophets warned,
Jesus born.

God walked,
Love talked.
Anger crucified,
Hope died.

Love rose,
Spirit flamed,
Word spread,
God remained.

Amen.
