First of all I this is an incredible blessing that theres forums where we can find refuge in and talk about the Lord... I never really thought about joining a forum in disccusions abot God but here I am. I have a prayer request actually.. Here's a little bit about me, I'm 20 years old and am from new york city. I stopped going to church last year, about the time when me and my ex-girlfriend broke up. I met her through church and even though I wanted to have God as much involved in that relationship it just didn't work out.. But that's not really the problem at the moment. The problem is that ever since I stopped going, (because it was just too awkward seeing her, even though I was told your not supposed to go out with people from your church because this is what happens when you do.) I started hanging out with people that weren't exactly from my fellowship and had different interests. We'll recently.. I was arrested for something. I didn't hurt anyone but it doesnt justify anything even though I didn't. On Oct. 31 I will be sentenced and the thing that kills me the most is that none of the lawyers I have or had can tell me what to expect because the Judge is supposedly very harsh i guess you can say?... I feel like i messed everything in my life up. I dishonored not only The name of God, but my family and myself. I have depression and although I'm too scared of killing myself because I feel that I would go to hell for it, I just feel so hopeless and feel that the Judge won't have mercy. Sometimes I think maybe something miraculous will happen like, he will lower the charges, but realistically I think I'm gonna be charged with a felony and jail time. I don't know who I can talk to about this either, even the people in my church wouldn't know what to say.. I even prayed to God that I truly truly want to be a living testimony after all this is over.. Im just scared that when I am sentenced Im gonna lose my faith... Its just right now, Its so hard to believe Gods working in me and around me because this incident has made me realized how horrible of a person I am on so many levels. I started to notice how much I've changed for the worse and feel like I don't deserve to live. Not to mention that I feel like no one cares, even though I do have friends that do. Please pray that the judge will have mercy on me and that I may be able to if theres some miraculous way for me not to get jail time or a felony. I originally wanted to be able to become a teacher to tell kids to not go down the path I went down, I want to continue my studies in school so please please whenever 2 or more gather in Gods name He IS there. Thank you so much guys. =* )

Hi skaiblue2,

Welcome to Christians Unite.

First let me say that I will be praying for you, that God will get you through the things that you are facing.

I would also like to say that God may not answer your prayers in the manner that you expect. He is much wiser than we are and will answer those prayers as He see fits to do. What I am saying here is that He may or may not get you a lesser sentence in the court case you are facing. That is not an excuse to turn your back on Him or to walk away from Him, to lose faith.

God is faithful to us and will never leave us but sometimes allows us to face certain things for reasons that we may not understand. The answer here is to stay strong in God, go to Him in prayer and study your Bible and be ready to face the consequnces of your own actions whatever they may be.

This is still a possibility even if you are not able to be a teacher in school. There are ways to get this across to others anyway.

I will be praying that the Lord will guide you in the proper way to go and in the proper things to say.

Hello skiablue, welcome to CU forums, we love to meet new members, I'm glad you decided to join us and I pray you will enjoy your visits and find them a source of strength and encouragement.

Skiablue what Pastor Roger has already told you is very true, I would also like to add one more thing God is a God of justice, He will not leave you or forsake you no matter where you are. I can tell that you are truely sorry for what you have done and God is ready to forgive you He is the Ultimate Judge. He can use you for His purpose no matter where you are or what you have done, even if you did have to serve some time God will still be with you and you will be in a position where He can use you to teach others in prison about Him. He will protect you and care for you, just don't turn your back on Him no matter what the situation may be. Do not let any thoughts of suicide enter into your mind, the enemy will always try to make it seem like death is the only way out and that God does not love you. Don't listen to him.

Finally skiablue, remember this God loves you no matter where you are, or what you have done, He still loves you. Do you remember the thief that was on a cross next to Jesus? No only was he saved on the cross, but Jesus was right beside him, He will be right there with you too, and remember also all the Bible characters that went to jail not just in the New Testament but in the Old too. God used them and they found favor in God's eyes as well as in man's

I have already added your name to my prayer list.

Kai, do not be dismayed and don't feel like you have been overlooked, many of our members visit later in the afternoon and some have no way to come to the forum from work, but there are a great many sweet and wnderful Christians here, that will resond as soon as they have a chance to and as soon as they read the posts they have missed.
I appreciate your pryaers, thank you. We all could use prayers  Wink

PS I just wanted to add Kai, many of the people that view are guests and they can't respond unless they become members.

hello skaiblue2;

I too will pray for you, as it was said before, God will never leave nor foresake you. Who are we to question what His plans are for us regardless of what we do, or have done. I would also like to add that God may not answer your prayers in the manner nor the time that you expect.

I too am relatively new here, even though I have been here for some time, I post replies when the Holy Spirit moves in me, and from what I have read here, He has done so in you at this time too.

I can personally testify to the fact that God never leaves nor foresake us, I started in the faith very early in life, and sadly due to circumstances I fell out of my walk with God. I became an alcoholic while serving in Viet-Nam and was so for a number of years, all I can say is praise the Lord and the holy spirit, for never leaving me, as He came back into my life after a night to say the least that was not so pleasant in my life.

So, kai, do not give up,  search and read the scriptures daily, you will find solice there.
I personally find confort in:
Phi 4:11  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

May God be with you and guide you.

Please don't pay attention to the post numbers. As Sister Maria said many of those are guests that cannot respond. Some of our regular members do not respond but still they will pray for you so please do not let that dishearten you.

Thank you also for the prayers. Prayer is a wonderful gift that we can give to each other and I thank God that so many Christians are willing to do so.
