Sibling Colombian drug lords were sentenced Tuesday in the United States to 30 years in prison for trafficking cocaine, The Miami Herald reported.

Gilberto and Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela had pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle more than 400,000 pounds of cocaine into the U.S.

The brothers were the founders of the infamous Cali cartel, which at one point smuggled up to 80 percent of the cocaine brought into the United States.

They were both incarcerated in Colombia since 1995 until they were sent to the United States under an extradition treaty. Gilberto was sent to the U.S. in January 2006, followed by his brother Miguel in March.
