Sister Tina,
I agree with your thoughts completely. I've always wondered why so many very wealthy people never help others. This is a good human interest story, and I enjoy reading good news like this. I remember a time when the news was mixed between good and bad news. Now it appears that the news media only concentrates on bad news.
On the other side of the coin, I know many people with barely enough resources to take care of themselves, yet they still give to their church and people less fortunate. I really like what Denzel Washington did and I hope that other rich people follow the example he set for many needs. In contrast, I must say that I have tremendous respect for people who have very little and they share it with those who need it more. This is an example of real love, especially when we try to help people we don't even know.
Love In Christ, Tom
Matthew 25:35-40 NASB 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
