The End Time News Media Fulfills Prophecy of Apostle Paul: Deceiving and Being Deceived

By Bill Wilson, KIN Senior Analyst

Wash—Aug 8—KIN—Much of the mainstream news media has continuously deceived its audience in the coverage of the Hezbollah War against Israel by reporting outright lies from Hezbollah militants or by manipulating the facts itself in an attempt to portray Israel as the aggressor. This is a clear indication of the fulfillment of an end time prophecy by the Apostle Paul who wrote that in the latter days “Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:13).”

The news coverage of the Hezbollah War against Israel leads millions of people toward a certain point of view—that the mean-spirited and militarily superior Israel Defense Forces are ravaging Lebanon by killing innocent women and children and by leaving a path of needless destruction. Pictures are shown in newspapers and on television of smoke billowing out of cities like Beirut, men and women carrying their dead children before the cameras, and Arab people running from what is perceived to be an Israeli air strike. It is as if it were a carefully staged war movie to depict the innocent victims of a powerful, unyielding killing machine.

And in many cases, this real life drama has Hollywood beat hands down. There have been many photos released by private sources on the Internet depicting Hezbollah terrorists manning anti-air weapons from Lebanese villages, but these stories give way to those that sensationalize the Israeli war machine. Take the incident in Qada. Initial reports were that 60 people were killed, most of them women and children who were hiding in a building struck by an Israeli bomb. The images of fathers carrying their children from the rubble; families picking out their dead grandmother from beneath the ruin; the tears and screams; were all part of the news coverage. After a week’s worth of investigation, it was determined that the building in question was likely destroyed by Hezbollah who had locked some people inside for the public relations benefits. Now death counts are at 17 and many of the children were brought from a nearby morgue.

It is beyond belief for most of the world that there could be such a calloused, evil group of people who would use their fellow mankind in such a manner, but welcome to the modern holy war of Islam against the world. Worse yet, that the news media would report these lies as truth makes them implicit in the deeds themselves. For example, Reuters, one of the most respected news sources in the world, yet also one that is biased against Israel, admitted that its war images were “manipulated” to present Israel in a bad light. They pulled some 920 photographs after the accuracy of the events were questioned by eyewitnesses. Turns out the photographer, a Hezbollah sympathizer, doctored his photos.

Journalists should not be easily manipulated. They are paid to report the news accurately as a trusted truth bearer to their audiences. For example, 17 dead does not look like 60. Clean bodies are not pulled from bombed out rubble, unless, of course, the reporter wanted to support a point of view. In the end times it will be difficult to discern between lies and truth. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”
