A song I wrote years ago based on Proverbs 30 (KJV) ...
Give me neither riches, nor poverty Lest I being full, deny thee: Lest I be poor, and steal. Set my roof above my head, Lord, Place my feet on the ground. Satisfy my soul with bread Lord. Let your grace abound.
verse 1 (Prov 30:7,8) Two things have I required thee Deny them not before I die Remove from me, vanity, And the speaking of a lie.
Give me neither riches, nor poverty Lest I being full, deny thee: Lest I be poor, and steal. Set my roof above my head, Lord, Place my feet on the ground. Satisfy my soul with bread Lord. Let your grace abound.
verse 2 (Prov 30:15) The horse leach has two daughters They cry give and give again. They've never tried to be satisfied Though they're causing others pain.
Give me neither riches, nor poverty Lest I being full, deny thee: Lest I be poor, and steal. Set my roof above my head, Lord, Place my feet on the ground. Satisfy my soul with bread Lord. Let your grace abound.
verse 3 (Phil 4:11) I have learned in whatsoever State I am to be content Sufficiency, with a heart set free I know, is Heaven-sent.
Give me neither riches, nor poverty Lest I being full, deny thee: Lest I be poor, and steal. Set my roof above my head, Lord, Place my feet on the ground. Satisfy my soul with bread Lord. Let your grace abound.
