Memorial Day is a day set aside for the remembrance of those that have given their lives that others may be free. It is and was an unselfish act by these brave young men and women. The freedoms that we so thoroughly enjoy are owed to these men and women and to the wonderful grace of God.

It is a day for families to get together to enjoy time off from work. Hotdogs, hamburgers, ballgames and more have become the norm for the day. While it is a wonderful thing to celebrate and enjoy these freedoms that so many have fought and died for it is important that we take time out in honor of their memory.

While we do so don't forget the one that willingly and freely gave the most for us all that we may have liberty from eternal death and torment .... Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Joh 15:12  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Joh 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

1Jo 3:16  Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Joh 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Triple ditto Amen to that.  Smiley

Veterans often hear and say "let us never forget"

Let us never forget what Jesus did for all of us.  Wink

SkipDawg,

Brother, I think that all of the prior military and Veterans here are strong Christians. We do have quite a few special posts on the forum for a very special weekend. BUT, GOD will be first in everything. Every day is a special day for:

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Proverbs 2:7-8 NASB  He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones.
