I wasn't really sure where to post this, the music thread or here. I figure because you can't hear the music, the lyrics are simply poetry. The reason I'm sharing this here is, well, I was in the secular music scene for a while, in what I would consider a fairly successful band. I was "saved" at the time, but sometime we choose to go on our own path, find our own way, and yes, I fell flat on my face. I will tell you however, that the Lord stayed with me every step of the way, and infact was there to pick me up as soon as I fell. I learned a great deal. In the depths of my confusion I wrote the following song lyrics almost nine years ago. Its a conversation that I had with the Lord one night, a song that really changed my life forever. You will not find mention of the Lord's name here, but trust me, its who I was talking to. Thanks for letting me post it!
Innocence
All I can say is that I'm sorry Morning comes with the strength to wake Did I surrender all my sunshine I'm lost in rain again Do you know the thoughts I'm thinking Would you care if I turned away When winter blisters in the moonlight I'm lost in rain again But I feel you, like we're standing face to face And I feel you, show my way, please show my way
If the sky begins to fall will I lose it all I'm looking for my innocence, looking for my innocence If this world should make me crawl will I lose it all I'm looking for my innocence, looking for my innocence
Please tell me I'm mistaken If I'm the only one I'll take the blame For life's a late night rated movie When I lost in rain again But you live in me Eventhough they scream "disgrace" I don't care what they mean Take my place, won't you take my place
Go and seek and let it turn into tomorrow, turn into tomorrow The fear they feed All that they have borrowed from the hands of sorrow in me
If the sky begins to fall will I lose it all I'm looking for my innocence, looking for my innocence If this world should make me crawl will I lose it all I'm looking for my innocence, looking for my innocence Save me.
