It would seem that there exists at least 2- one for the redeemed and one for those who will be judged according to their works. (Rev 20)
What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts?
That, like the rest of the book of Revelations, its heavily metaphorical and to try and take it literally is absurd.

More ISM's from ebia.
Actually, there are no erasures in either book.
The names were written in heaven from the begining (2 Th 2:13), because all whose names are written, were written in by the very finger of God, himself, who were chosen having been predestinated from beforethe foundation of the world (Eph 1:4,11).

Books like Revelation & Daniel are not to be taken literally. They are examples of Apocalyptic literature and should be interpreted in the context of the literary genre which so clearly influenced them. They are books of theological insight.
Highly recommended:
"In God's Time: The Bible And The Future" by mainstream Biblical scholar Craig C. Hill.

aw: Its still "PLURAL" and that means there has to be more than one. Don't you think?

aw: I guess God has a problem with the english language as the word is not only plural as in book(s) but it also says "ANOTHER" book. Now, where I come from "ANOTHER" indicates something different and thus "2." The "ONE" + the "ANOTHER." Why would God choose to say it this way and have it mean only ONE?

I don't know, because the methaphorical group and such don't like God's Word?

knox,
No doubt you consider Hill's book to be an inspired comentary, since it explains everything.
Good grief.......
While John's and Daniel's fictional,
And ebia, considers all of it metamorphical.
What book are your names written in??
Something to think about........

Oh my, that is so funny I can hardly contain the laughter. What I mean is when the book containing the "works" are opened and the person condemned to the lake of fire, you can almost hear some say, "But I thought your Word meant that they were only metamorphical?"

Hey what the......hey, this is not supposed to be like this, it can't be..happening, But i thought...............your word wasn't liter..a...l.
Oh please just one more chance...I'll be goo.........this time.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev20:12-15.

aw and Petro - how sad.
If your beliefs were sincerely held, instead of being a shallow and immature imitation of Christianity, the thought of millions of people being consigned to Hell for the supposed 'sin' of not sharing your interpretation of Revelation would be the occasion for a feeling of great sadness, not chuckles.

You missed the point entirely and, in fact, it is just the opposite of your portrayal. i have read perhaps hundreds of petro's posts and I can assure you that both he and I care about one thing only and that is that the true gospel that brings eternal life is stated in the proper spiritual form with exactly what God intended.
The difference is always LAW vesus GRACE and or WORKS versus GRACE. People are going to judged by their works but it will never gain them heaven. The works that are judged in the verse cited will only determine the degree of punishment.
The believer is never judges as to condemnation(Romans 8:1) and only those who have believed on Christ are written in His book.
The kind of "spiritualizing" and "figurative" interpretations of scripture are tools to hide the true gospel; eg., hath God really meant one when He said 2? Was God just speaking metamorphically about a 1,000-year reign?
God says what He means and means what He says- allunsaved will be judged according to their works but all fail!
I can't speak for Petro but I am sure that neither he nor I are willing that any should perish and neither is the Lord. Some will however because the gospel was not properly presented to them.

knoxy, old buddy,
What is really the sad part about this conversation is, that you would have us believe you are a christian, I ask you how can a christian, reject the very word of God.
Yoiu don't even believe is a Graden where man placed man, and commanded him not to eat of the fruit of the tree in the middle of that garden.
Then on the other hand you, do believe the words of the serpent,
"he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"
"Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
This is why you state what you believe, and it is not the word of God.
From the time you began posting herein, you haven't agreed with scripture thats been quoted.
Who are trying to fool anyhow, are you that confused about what God's word??
You act as thou you are a god, judging God.
You are a mere man, and one that is confused at that.
What makes you think, Bible believing Christians would believe anything you have to say, anyhow??
Thanks , but no thanks...charley.....
