BEP - wow what a great thing! Smiley Such a great message - I loved it!!

Because really, just think about what you're teaching your children! Smiley  "Okay kids...here's the deal.  Anyone who does not think EXACTLY like you is EVIL.  The only right way to think is the way you think (or rather, the way we, your parents, think).  Never consider anyone else's opinions or perspectives...people from different religions are evil and they should not be able to live in the USA. "

"But Mom/Dad - isn't this a free country?"

"Yes but only for those of us who are RIGHT - which would be Christians!  Freedom of speech/thought/religion/expression doesn't apply to anyone else."

"Oh okay.  But my friend Timmy is an atheist!  I like him!"

"Too bad.  He is wrong and you cannot be friends with him."

What a great message to teach your children.

"Our" Christian ways?  Hahaha that's a good one.

It frightens me that some of you have reproductive organs...and use them!!!   *shudder*

I have to disagree with all the religious junk in that banner as well, but the idea behind it is admirable. Lets be honest, if you do not like the teams, get out of the stadium! If you do not like the phrases and symbols that make this nation what it is for the past few centuries, then leave! When you get right down to it, this is just a stupid banner, nothing to get upset over.

Seeing as this is a free country, BEP has the right to state his beliefs, even if they do act others beliefs. If you don’t like BEP assaulting what others may hold as true, then do not attack him for stating what he believes. You can easily tell him how you feel about the banner without implying all that you did.

AAAAmember,

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear that! Copy it and use it. You're on a Christian Forum, so you can expect a lot more of that.

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1 Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

AAAA, there is light here, enjoy it.

But, he was using sarcasm himself, and you didn’t understand it...

Just thought I’d point that out. Grin

I love it so when children mock adults for their lack of wisdom...   Roll Eyes  Ironically Tom, I recognized the humor!  I also recognized the life spent protecting people, who for the sake of being "politically correct" in a nation where "correct" is a matter of perspective, would gladly tear down that self same nation in order not to offend someone.  Thanks for your service and dedication sir, and that of your children.

Oklahoma Howdy to Allinall,

Brother, thank you, that put a smile on my face. I am just getting ready to write my son, and I will pass on the thanks for his service. With any luck, he may be coming back to the States in October. I guess that depends on whatever happens between now and then. I'm sad to say that I think they are sitting on a powder keg, ready to blow any minute. Your continued prayers will definitely be appreciated. I try to never forget our fine young men and women protecting our freedom and way of life.

In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Tibby,

He has two more years on this enlistment and hasn't decided yet. He and I both know that the Navy has done everything they said they would do. They have made several interesting offers, and I have no doubt they would honor those offers. I like the way they treat sharp young men and women they want to keep. The re-enlistment bonuses are getting rather large, and the education opportunities are something average people would never be able to pay for. The bonus is guaranteed, but the advanced education is tied to grades. I understand and agree the in-service education should require high grades. In my son's case, he already has the equivalent of a degree in nuclear engineering from MIT. They want him to finish up with the few required courses for a degree (i.e. English, History, etc.). I really don't know how many offers he has if he finishes the approximately 16 college credits for the degree. I will encourage him regardless of his decision.

In Christ,
Tom

The military takes car of there own. After 21 years, they still take car of my Dad after he retired and when to work else were. Medical is all taken car of, insurance. If he can get a promotion to Officer, he might want to try for a career. Who knows how he goes, and I’m sure God will guild his steps.

Oklahoma Howdy to Tibby,

They do want him to go to Officer Candidate School. He goes for E-6 next month at 22 years of age. If I understood it correctly, the additional schools would mean just another 4 year enlistment. He would be a Lt. Commander the day he finished school. I think he should do it, but I'm just going to pray for him and let him decide what to do. He is a Christian and will pray about it also.

In Christ,
Tom
