Okay.  I know.  This is a really silly topic.

But I know it's on everyone's mind--at least here in U.S., where we're all overweight, and all we care about is eating.

Okay.  So, what is your favorite fast food, and/or what are the places near where you live?

For me, within a thirty mile radius,

1/2 a dozen McDonalds, a Burger King, several Sonics, a White Castle, a Steak & Shake, Pizza Hut,  Taco Bell, Hardees, Subway, Dominoes Pizza, several Kentucky Fried Chickens(mmmm, love'em-- Grin), Captain D's Fish, Long John Silver's Fish.   I don't think there are any Wendys. Embarrassed

These are all the "bottom rung"(as opposed to slightly more upscale, like Denny's, or Ponderosa, which I don't consider fast food...).

My favorite fast food, tho I rarely indulge, is probably KFC(love their biscuits).  Then probably the Big Mac, tho I understand Burger King is probably better for you, cuz they grill or charbroil theirs, rather than fry the burger.

My favorite french fry I find at a Mom and Pop fast food place--but you hafta eat'm while their hot.

Within a 30 mile radius of here you'd find just about every style of food in the world.

Within 30 mins walk, there and back, you can find:
Several fish & chip shops (ozzie style)
KFC
Charcoal Chicken
Red Rooster
3 Pizza Places (Pizza Hut, La Porchetta, and an independent)
Kebab shop
Noodle shop

You'd have to get in a car for 5 mins to get to a McDonalds or Hungry Jacks (Australia's name for Burger King).  A 10 minute drive would get you just about any other sort of fast food imaginable.

Far and away the best of that lot is the independent pizza place, which is also probably the cheapest - $6 Australian (approx $3 US) for an excellent large pizza.  Eat in or take away.  One of the chippies is also very good (Australian fish & chips is very different from English fish & chips).

Maybe they are different in the US, but here it has been demonstrated that Hungry Jacks/Burger King burgers have twice the fat of McDonnalds ones.

What with my washboard  abs and my steel buns, a person probably wouldn't guess that I love a good Burger & Fries.

There is a Mom & Pop burger joint near my home called Hawkins Pak-Out. Their hamburgers are unbelievable, and they have the best french fries in the world. An order of fries is larger than a person can possibly eat at one sitting.

Don't care too much for the fast-food chains, but now and then a Big-Mac really hits the spot.

Yo eb's got some cheap pizza fer sho.  $3 for a large?  Are you serious?  I don't think you can get a personal pizza for $3 here.  I wonder how different your pizza is from ours.  A 30 mile radious puts your butt in Philly and Wilmington so anything you can think of for the most part is around.  That is if it's not a regional type of franchise.  ie Jack in the Box is a west coast thing.

I'm absolutely serious.  Good pizza too, made by Italians - you'd pay at least 5 times that for a less good pizza in the UK.

There are NO fast food places near where I live.  Tongue

Wendy's is my favorite. It's about an hour from us!

Sonics Bacon cheesburger would probably be 1st choice.  Also very close to sonics.   Cheesy

Dickies bbq also right around the corner.

Pizza, and wings!  woohoo!

Uhhh....Also have to hit that Taco Bell, and Long John Silvers once in a while, although these are about a 30 min drive.

I usually get a salad at Wendy's these days. Sometimes at Burger King. Need to lose weight! Lips Sealed

Yes, I do like the Wendy's salad bar.

Wow, sincereheart, you ressurrected this thread after quite a while.  thank you.   Smiley

Evan:   pickled jalapenos.   Lips Sealed

*sigh*  I can eat them fresh-the fresh green jalapenos are manageable.  But the pickled ones--whew--way too hot for me.

I stay away from fast food mostly, now.

I don't eat much junk food.  I really don't have a sweet tooth, plus I am trying to get fit again, but when I want something really good and I don't care if it is bad or not, I really like deep fried mozzarella cheese sticks.

On a healthier note, I really like fresh spring rolls with a good dipping sauce.  I could make a meal out of them.

I keep replying to all the food topics.  I must be hungry.  I'd better broaden my horizens and choose a non-foodie topic!
