Little pilgrim, walking down the road of life...

Hello everyone,
It's been far too long since I last visited here (since the update in fact. I couldn't access my account for the longest time). I figured since I'm reintroducing myself, I may as well give an update.

I'm eighteen now, working on my final year of highschool. I'm planning early next year to head off and join the US navy where I'll receive specific training in the field of electronics for about five years before I come home. Smiley I currently live with my mother and younger sister in Lansing, MI. Anyway, if there's anything else anyone would like to know, feel free to ask.

Nice to see you again LittlePilgrim!  It's always so refreshing to meet a Christian teen!  Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and good luck in the Navy.  My nephew just joined the Airforce, he's 18 and out of boot camp.  They just told him he's going to Germany for 2 years and he's thrilled.  I pray that you get your heart's desire .... don't be a stranger to CU!  Let us know how you're doing!  Please feel free to email anytime!

Blessings~

Welcome back LittlePilgrim, I've missed seeing you around. Nice to have you back. Well Happy Birthday. And congratulations on your decision to join the Navy. I am very happy for you and I pray that all you desire will come to pass. So when is your graduation day? And do you know where you will be stationed for boot camp?
your friend and sister in Christ,

Hello LittlePilgrim,

It's great to hear from you, and I'm very happy to hear that you're joining the Navy. My son just got out of the Navy about 8 months ago, and we all know it was one of the best decisions he's ever made. The Navy made promises to him on education, and his part was to make good grades. The Navy and my son kept the bargain, and my son is a nuclear engineer at the age of 25. He's now a nuclear analyst for Florida Power and Light, and he really enjoys the work. Money isn't everything, but his starting pay was twice what I made after 25 years in my career.

I think that you've made a wise decision, and I also think that the Navy will be great for you. The Navy does exactly what they say they will as long as you do your part. I might add that the Navy paycheck is pretty healthy, probably much better than you could get without a degree of some kind. AND, there's no reason why you can't get a degree in your chosen field while you are in the Navy, or at least close and finish a few required subjects after the the Navy courses. My son needed 23 credit hours after he tested out of certain subjects, and the Navy will be paying nearly everything for him to finish. I must add that the Navy is also a good career for someone willing to work hard and be a team player.

I've talked your arm off. I'll stop and simply say that I'm proud of your decision, and I'll be praying for you.

Love in Christ,
Tom

Every man and woman serving in any branch of the military is worthy of the same respect. They all put their lives on the line for our freedom.

Amen sister, that is a fact. I am sure that DW was just being his usual joking self and was not serious when he said that.

LOL My great uncle, a Vietnam vet, would have disowned me if I'd gone into the marines. Tongue

But at least you didn't say the Army's better. *nudgenudge*

Anyways, I'm not sure of any of that yet, as I need to graduate before speaking to the recruiter, but in this instance, I'm glad to be following in my father's footsteps. Smiley

Thanks for all your warm greetings and prayers everyone.
