Remember the "A" that our Puritian fathers made adulters wear?  Or the 'mark' God placed on Cain?
Maybe it's not a bad idea.  A "T" for traitor or terrorist or terrorist supporter would be nice.

Islam subway ads cause stir in New York
July 22, 2008

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Ads promoting Islam are to be placed on New York subway cars in September, but a U.S. congressman finds people sponsoring the messages unacceptable.

"I have no problem with the ad itself, but I have a very, very real problem with those behind it," Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican, said Tuesday. He is urging the Metropolitan Transit Authority to reject the ads.

The campaign is to feature ads on 1,000 of the subway system's roughly 6,200 cars. The main sponsor is a grass-roots organization, Islamic Circle of North America.

The ads, simple black-and-white panels, will feature key words or phrases about Islam on one side of the panel such as "Head Scarf?" or "Prophet Muhammad?" and the words "You deserve to know" along with the Web site address WhyIslam.org on the other side.

"The idea is to evoke certain thoughts in the mindset of the person who is looking at the ads and get them to a point where they can reflect upon certain words that one could define as hot words or keywords that get thrown around a lot but are not necessarily defined in the most proper context," said New York University's Imam Khalid Latif, a cleric who is promoting the project in a YouTube video created by the Islamic Circle. VideoWatch the controversy surrounding the subway ads »

Another of the backers of the advertising campaign -- which will launch in September to coincide with the monthlong Islamic holiday of Ramadan -- is Siraj Wahhaj, imam of a Brooklyn mosque.

Wahhaj was the first Muslim to lead a prayer before the House of Representatives, but King objects to him because he was a character witness for convicted 1993 World Trade Center bombing mastermind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman.

"He is a known Islamic extremist, and you would be giving him credibility and stature through a known government facility," said King, ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee.

Wahhaj also appeared on a list of 170 potential unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 bombing case. A prosecutor said that not everyone on the list was considered a co-conspirator.

On Monday, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg did not join in King's outrage about the ads.

"If you were to advocate becoming a Muslim, I assume the First Amendment would protect you," he said.

But King, noting that the ads would be up during the seventh anniversary of the September 11 attacks, said, "I'm calling on the MTA not to have these ads, not to go forward with them, and I don't see this as a free speech issue at all."

King said he sent a letter to the MTA on Monday night demanding that it reject the ads.

The New York Post has reacted strongly to the ads, running a cover photograph of Wahhaj on Monday with the headline "Jihad Train" and posting an article on its Web site with the headline "Train-ing day for jihadists" and the first paragraph saying, "Allah aboard!"

Abdel-Rahman and nine others were convicted in 1995 of seditious conspiracy for their role in a plot to bomb the United Nations, FBI headquarters in Manhattan, two tunnels in New York and a bridge connecting New Jersey with Manhattan, all in one day.

The government said the group also was responsible for the February 26, 1993, World Trade Center bombing that killed six people and injured more than 1,000.

Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor in that case, said Wahhaj's name was included in a filing that prosecutors were required to provide to defense attorneys in the case, a list of all the names of people who could possibly be foreseen to come up in the evidence. The filing, McCarthy said, has been called a "co-conspirator list." But Wahhaj was never named by the prosecution.

"The only time he came up in a meaningful way before the jury is when the defense called him as a witness," McCarthy recalled.

McCarthy said that although the list named anyone the government might allege during the trial was a co-conspirator, not everyone on the list was so labeled.

Wahhaj said Monday that he was a character witness for Abdel-Rahman in the context of "what we knew about him before the incident," citing him as a "scholar in Islam" and "a great reciter of the Quran."

"People try to make the connection as if I'm endorsing some bad deeds that [were] done by Sheik Abdel-Rahman," he said. "That had nothing to do with it."

He added, "not only have I never been charged with anything, not one FBI agent has ever asked me one question in relationship to that bombing."

Wahhaj also said that he regrets some of his more controversial statements, such as calling the FBI and the CIA "terrorists."

"What I was saying is that not all the FBI or CIA are terrorists, but there are some elements in there," he said. "So if you want to accuse some Muslims [of being terrorists], OK. These Muslims did that, but don't undermine the entire faith. That's what the message is."

Wahhaj said the New York Post's "cheesy" and "anti-Islam" reaction to his participation in the Subway Project is "the very reason the young Muslims want to put out this ad campaign."

Islamic Circle spokesman Azeem Khan called the situation a "perfect microcosm" of what the ads seek to address: that Wahhaj's portrayal in media reports is similar to how Islam is often depicted.

"I think that even more so reinforces the idea as to why a project like this is necessary, where Muslims have to be more pro-active in terms of educating people about their religion, by no means proselytizing the faith in any capacity, but really setting a standard and defining what mainstream Islam stands for," Latif said.

The project is the Islamic Circle's first such advertising campaign. The group has run ads before but not on New York's subways.

The transit authority said the cost of the monthlong campaign is about $48,000.

The ACLU would probably be up in arms if a Christian group tried to put up the gospel message on the subway.

Islamists Attack Free Speech At United Nations

rev_sheldon.jpgJuly 24, 2008
By Rev. Louis P. Sheldon
Chairman, Traditional Values Coalition

Freedom of speech and criticism of Islamic practices are under assault at the United Nations by a group of Islamists from Pakistan, Egypt and Iran.

In late June, these Islamists shut down criticism of questionable Islamic practices in the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC). Those practices include female genital mutilation, stoning for adultery and child marriage – which all are permitted under Islamic Shariah law. Islamic terrorism expert Robert Spencer has detailed what occurred during this shouting match in FrontPageMagazine.com.

The verbal melee erupted in the Human Rights Council after the Association for World Education (AWE) and the International Humanist and Ethical Union issued a joint statement condemning genital mutilation, stoning for adultery and child marriages.

AWE speaker David Littman was interrupted by Islamist points of order at least 16 times – and the proceedings were suspended for more than half an hour. During this Islamic disruption, several Islamists made statements that should be widely discussed. They reveal far more about Islamic radicalism than the speakers may have wished.

Imran Ahmed Siddiqui of Pakistan told the Council that Littman should not be permitted to speak. He also said that criticism of Islam amounts to “spreading hatred against certain members of the Council.” He asked the head of the Council to bar any such discussions in the Council. A representative from Egypt told Littman that his nation “will not take this lightly. … This is not about NGOs [non-governmental organizations] and their participation in the Council. This is about the Shariah law.”

When Littman continued his criticism of Iranian’s practice of stoning adulterous women, the Iranian delegate denied that such practices take place in Iran. Could the Iranian representative be unaware that as of September 2007, eight women were awaiting stoning to death on adultery charges?

The President of the Human Rights Council, Doru-Romulus Costea ruled that religious issues can be “very complex, very sensitive and very intense… This council is not prepared to discuss religious matters in depth, consequently we should not do it.” As a result of this ruling, only religious scholars would be permitted to discuss Islamic religious practices in future meetings of this “human rights” council.

The Human Rights Council is dominated by Arab and other Muslim nations, so its pronouncements will undoubtedly become more and more Islamized in the future. In March, for example, the HRC passed a resolution urging nations to pass laws criminalizing the defamation of religions!

There are currently 47 countries on the Human Rights Council. Of that 47, sixteen countries are Islamic! These nations are frequently aided in their attacks upon American values by such Communist-controlled nations as China and Cuba. Russia and South Africa also frequently vote with the Islamic bloc.

U.N. Watch, a Geneva-based organization is rightly concerned about this “human rights” group being dominated by totalitarian regimes. U.N. Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer noted: “Unless the U.N. stops electing the worst violators to the Human Rights Council, we will continue to have the foxes guarding the chickens.”

Only at the United Nations could we observe such Alice-in-Wonderland politics – where up is down and right is wrong. The U.N. Human Rights Council is a dangerous entity run by Islamic fanatics and Marxists who will use their powerful positions to undermine free speech, freedom of religion and democratic governments around the world.

You know THAT's right!  But I'm thinking why don't they just go ahead and advertise for the local Satanists convention, or Wicca coven while they are at it?  It's sounds just as ridiculous to me.  Why don't we just hand them the Key to the City and be done with it.  This is slow death we are watching in this country folks.

Islamic group claims India blasts that killed 45

By MATTHEW ROSENBERG, Associated Press Writer 19 minutes ago

AHMADABAD, India - An obscure Islamic militant group warning of "the terror of Death" claimed responsibility for bombings that killed at least 45 people and authorities stepped up security Sunday after India's second series of blasts in two days.

The city's police commissioner, O.P. Mathur, said that 30 people had been detained for questioning, but there was scant information about the Indian Mujahideen, the little known group that took credit for the bombings in western India.

"In the name of Allah the Indian Mujahideen strike again! Do whatever you can, within 5 minutes from now, feel the terror of Death!" said an e-mail from the group sent to several Indian television stations minutes before the blasts began.

The e-mail's subject line said "Await 5 minutes for the revenge of Gujarat," an apparent reference to 2002 riots in the western state which left 1,000 people, mostly Muslims, dead. The historic city of Ahmadabad was the scene of much of the 2002 violence.

Saturday's e-mail, sent from a Yahoo account and written in English, was made available to AP by CNN-IBN, one of the TV stations that received the warning.

State government spokesman Jaynarayan Vyas said 45 people were killed and 161 wounded when at least 16 bombs went off Saturday evening in several crowded neighborhoods.

The attack came a day after seven smaller blasts killed two people in the southern technology hub of Bangalore.

Investigators in Surat, a city about 160 miles south of Ahmadabad, found a car carrying detonators and a liquid that police suspect may be ammonium nitrate, a chemical often used in explosive devices, city police Chief R.M.S. Brar told reporters.

The e-mail was sent by a group calling itself Indian Mujahideen that was unknown before May, when it said it was behind a series of bombings in Jaipur, also in western India, that killed 61 people.

In its e-mail, the group did not mention the bombings in Bangalore and it was not clear if the attacks were connected. But both Ahmadabad and Bangalore are in states ruled by the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, as is Jaipur, raising suspicions that whoever was behind the attacks may have wanted to make a political statement.

There were reports the e-mail may have been sent from a suburb of Mumbai, India's financial capital. But the city's police chief, A.N. Roy, said, "We are inquiring into that. We haven't traced it yet."

The Saturday bombs went off in two separate spates. The first, near a busy market, left some of the dead sprawled beside stands piled high with fruit, next to twisted bicycles. The second group of blasts went off near a hospital.

The side of a bus was blown off and its windows shattered, while another vehicle was engulfed in flames. Most of the blasts took place in the narrow lanes of the older part of Ahmadabad, which is tightly packed with homes and small businesses. Bomb-sniffing dogs scoured the areas.

Distraught relatives of the victims crowded the city's hospitals. One of the wounded was a 6-year-old boy whose father was killed in the blasts. He lay in a hospital bed with his arms covered in bandages and wounds on his face.

Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat state where Ahmadabad is located, said the bombings appeared to have been masterminded by a group or groups who "are using a similar modus operandi all over the country."

India has been hit repeatedly by bombings in recent years. Nearly all have been blamed on Islamic militants who allegedly want to provoke violence between India's Hindu majority and Muslim minority, although officials rarely offer hard evidence implicating a specific group.

The perpetrators also rarely claim responsibility — a fact that raised doubts about the Indian Mujahedeen when it took credit in May for attacking Jaipur.

But fears that an attack could spark religious riots are real in India, which has seen sporadic violence between Hindus and Muslims since independence from Britain in 1947.

Those fears were amplified by the recent history of the 2002 religious riots. The violence was triggered by a fire that killed 60 passengers on a train packed with Hindu pilgrims. Hindu extremists blamed the deaths on Muslims and rampaged through Muslim neighborhoods, although the cause of the blaze remains unclear.

Ahmadabad is also known for the elegant architecture of its mosques and mausoleums, a rich blend of Muslim and Hindu styles. It was founded in the 15th century and served as a sultanate, fortified in 1487 with a wall six miles in circumference.

Islamist bombers target Olympics
Michael Sheridan Far East Correspondent

A MILITANT Islamic group has threatened to attack the Beijing Olympics with suicide bombers and biological weapons and has claimed responsibility for a string of fatal bombings and explosions in China over recent weeks.

In a video released by IntelCenter, a terrorism monitoring group, a bearded man identified as “Commander Seyfullah” is seen reading a declaration of jihad against the Olympics and warns athletes and spectators, “especially Muslims”, to stay away.

It was issued by a group calling itself the Turkestan Islamic party. The group may be allied with the East Turkestan Islamic Movement – designated a terrorist organisation by the US, China and several other countries – which seeks independence for the Muslim Uighur people of China’s far west province of Xinjiang, which Uighur separatists call East Turkestan.

“Commander Seyfullah” said the group was responsible for three bombs last week on buses in the city of Kunming, which killed two people, and for two bus bombings on May 21 in Shanghai, which killed three.

The group said it also bombed a plastics factory in southern China and claimed involvement in an attack on police in the city of Wenzhou using explosives on a tractor, both on July 17.

Some of these incidents had been attributed to criminals, local grievances or accidents.

IntelCenter said that in an earlier five-page communiqué the group had promised to unleash suicide bombers against the Olympics and told Muslims that the use of biological weapons would be religiously justified.

The Chinese authorities have mobilised more than 100,000 troops and police to guard the Olympics and have imposed draconian security restrictions in every city where events will take place.

These guys to seem to care who they target as long as they stay busy, uh?  They really are thinking that they are going to take over the world.  And maybe they will for a minute until the Lord takes what is rightfully His.

And why isn't it stated here how over centuries muslims conquered so much foreign territory. Not by persuasion but with violence. It was and still is the objective to conquer the world.

The notorious CAIR and other Islamist groups have been successfully targeting America's first responders with frivolous lawsuits and other forms of intimidation.  A Israeli soldier was arrested for shooting a defenseless Palestinian in the foot with a rubber bullet.  By contrast, the Muslim world celebrated the release of Samir Kuntar, who bludgeoned a 4-year-old Israeli girl to death along with her family.

I know, shut up Bob. Undecided

American mosques: Muslim terror outposts?

An Arab-Christian activist is calling on concerned Americans to sign a petition urging Congress to conduct hearings to review radical Islamic materials being distributed in American mosques.

Brigitte Gabriel, founder of Act! for America, says there is sufficient evidence to indicate that tax-exempt Islamic organizations are selling or distributing material in mosques in America that rise to the level of a genuine threat to the nation's security and liberty.

"We have found material that is exhorting Muslims to engage in holy wars – Jihad – against us, inciting terror and violence against us," Gabriel contends. "They are calling for abolishing our constitutional form of government and replacing it with Sharia Law, which is the strict Islamic law."

The critic of Islam says inciting hatred in American mosques does not constitute "protected speech" and should not be allowed to continue, so she is urging concerned citizens to sign the online petition calling for congressional hearings to determine if the materials violate federal statutes governing tax-exempt organizations, statutes designed to combat terrorism, or statutes prohibiting "sedition, the advocacy and/or effort of abolishing or overthrowing our constitutional form of government."

Nearly 16,000 people, according to Gabriel, have already signed the online petition, available at her organization's website.
